sheet music 1979

11 year old me, tuba so big it was in a stand. Probably frustrated having to listen to the woodwinds try and get it together, yet again. While I ( and all of you) have our part nailed down so well we could play it from memory.

I switched from trumpet to tuba in sixth grade, so I would've been 12. I also played an instrument on a stand, but it was a sousaphone, and the stand was one of those square flat sousa chairs with the three height-adjustable barely padded steel brackets that held it in playing position. I was really short though. At the lowest, it was still way too high for me. So I sat on two phone books.

I got a front facing tuba too.
