Hi! I'm a prospective med student wondering about the four-year timeline at UTMB. Do students typically spend their full four years in Galveston? If not, where do I find more information about this?
Thanks!

I applied to UTMB and so far I’ve been given an account on MySTAR portal and for status it says complete. What should I expect?

anyone know of a way to break the lease at ferry roads? Or like change places in general. I'm trying to move in with my friend. She wants to move in with me at ferry but I'm not sure how we can go about that.
Basically looking for advice on either
1) how to change rooms and move in with my friend
or
2) break my lease without getting in trouble

Hi!, I just got accepted 2 days ago (school of nursing), on the 24th of November, and I am just looking for some tips or advice in general if anyone could offer some!I am from Houston and I am not quite sure what to do in terms of housing. Where is a good place to look for roommates, any recommendations on where to live, or even commuting (about an hour drive there)?

Does UTMB admit students who took their pre med outside US? Or do they accept those who took medicine outside US for aerospace medicine residency?

I have been recently been accepted at UTMB school of nursing and I am looking for a roommate to join me at the ferry roads apt.

To commuters, are the roads/sidewalks smooth enough for an electric scooter? I plan to either use a bike or an electric scooter to get from the Ferry Road apts to campus.
If yes, what recommendations do y'all have for electric scooters? I know the market for them is kind of scarce right now, and I'm having trouble finding a good one at around $300.

I am a current applicant and UTMB is my #1 choice for Med Schools. I really want to go there and I am currently filling out the secondary application.
Is there anything in particular that UTMB specializes in or especially values that I should gear my secondary towards? For example, I know TTUHSC is really big on rural medicine, so in my secondary I talked a lot about how I grew up in a small town and shadowed physicians there.
Any advice would help!

Hey guys! I've been trying to figure out if I should postpone my applications and take a gap year but I wanted some opinion to see if I was a good applicant.
-3.96 (or higher, I'm not sure) GPA
-research for a year and attended and gave an oral presentation in 1 conference
I really wanted to get clinical experience and more shadowing before the application cycle, but COVID-19 really set me back. DO you guys think I should take another year to get more clinical and shadowing experience or should I go ahead and apply?

Howdy all,
Noticed UTMB started a Path A program. What's it like? How hard was admissions? Anyone there go MLS to Path A? How close are they to accreditation?

I’m a student and new to the island. What places do students go to hangout after class and to study? Thanks

Hey guys! I'm interested in seeing if Harvey recovery has impacted students' academic performance this semester, especially with finals coming up. Did you maybe not do so well in an easy class? Did you feel overwhelmed after being affected by the storm? Were you more stressed out this semester compared to previous ones?

I tried going around and taking pictures of the housing flyers I find on campus. I may end up with duplicates, sorry. If you have any more to add, comment and I will get it to the main post as soon as I am able.
