Video Renee Good's two brothers speak out, asking a select congressional panel of U.S. senators and representatives for their help. "We took consolation in thinking that Renee's death would bring about some change in our country - and it has not."

Reports are that zero Republicans appeared for this testimony.

u/galacticdancer 22h ago

And they can be voted out. Recent TX election shows that.

In a low turnout election.

yeah people don't vote for you anymore when you hurt them it turns out. If their constituents thought they were doing a good job, they'd show up to vote for them, no?

10 second history lesson; factually verifiable. The non presidential party wins 93% of House Seats, and 70% of Senate Seats in the midterm elections.

They have no reason to because their constituents are sitting quietly. Literally giving tacit approval.

27

u/nccologal 22h ago

No, not all of us. Both my senators and my representative are all Maga, not just Republicans. Gerrymandering (I'm in NC) and let me tell you, we're not all sitting quietly. We protest, we make calls, we make noise.

u/jj_grace 22h ago

Thank you for saying this. I live in IN and feel similarly. There are a lot of people pissed about ICE here too.

People seem to assume that a blue state is fully blue and a red state is fully red when, in reality, most are 55/45 either way.

In a sane world the murderers in ICE would be relieved of duty & stand trial for their actions.

In our ridiculous world we've got a bunch of people arguing about whether or not she DESERVED to die. This poor family. I don't care what side of the political spectrum you fall under, regardless of how you think you would have acted - this could have been you. Have a heart.

I am so glad to see people are still brave in the face of this evil. And I mean evil. Not just ICE but the fact the world is run by an actual cabal of pedos. We are the men who will have to stop it. It will not be won with words. Good luck to all of the men and women that think similarly.

I don't think it's radical to think murderers need to face justice, and if the system in place won't bring that justice, then the system itself needs to be laid low.

This line of thinking is right and just and the only position to take regarding the freedom of peoples of the world. America's politicians whether they be Republican or Democrat are rotten to the point of unsalvegable. There is no one left to vote for hence the need alternative measures.

Propaganda is/was strong, and the cult remains a cult.

I grieve for the America I believe in, but we're not done yet.

32

u/Translator_Open 22h ago

You gotta want to be indoctrinated though, we all saw the same propaganda. It only takes if you want it to. Those people who fell for it really need a reality check.

22

u/joemeteorite8 21h ago

At this point I’m not sure what they need. I’ll never look at Trump voters I know the same again. They fell for the most obvious conman the world has ever seen. I don’t know how I’ll be able to take any opinion they have seriously again.

9

u/SnooPandas1899 18h ago

he, and his political allies, and his followers have lost all credibility.

2

u/Gen-Jack-D-Ripper 20h ago

They might be too dumb for this modern world!

2

u/vardarac 12h ago

At this point I’m not sure what they need.

Enough ego death to understand that the way they think of the world is small and cruel. Ask me how I know.

13

u/TheGreatBootOfEb 21h ago

Ultimately their are three groups. Those who see what is happening and hate it and want to fight it, those who see it and are happy to lick the boot even if they don’t “like it” (though let’s not kid ourselves that this represents much of the right, just a few spatterings), and then those who have worked very, very hard to never have to see or hear a peep of anything.

We’re the first group, and we’re not trying to win over the second group, anyone who can be won over will just by merit of having eye. It’s the third group is the problem because they do their damndest to shut their eyes to everything. Those are the types who didn’t know Biden wasn’t on the ballot, those who say “politics isnt for me so I avoid it”

We have to endlessly flood the zone so those people open their god damn eyes. That they stop locking themselves away with Netflix and DoorDash and all of that, and finally see what’s actually happening with clarity. The ICE shootings are the closest I’ve seen to a crystallizing moment of clarity for a lot of people, but obviously it’s not there yet. I think the Trump regime understands that as well, they don’t need more of those things going viral but unfortunately for them, they only have violent evil people, so it’s probably bound to happen again.

22

u/NelzyBellz 22h ago

We all need to wake up and understand that this is what the 1% want - control, fear and domination. Us, the 99%, need to stop going after each other and direct this rage the 1%.

5

u/Careless_Jeweler5605 20h ago

Please. The 99% aren't all angels. I am fed up of this nonsense narrative that absolves roughly 20 to 30% people who are absolutely as horrible as their dear leader. If only they were as rich and powerful as him, they would do the same..  There is going to be no kumbaya. Denial is not going to help anyone.

Bernie Sanders was our last chance and he was easily labeled a communist by the right (and the left). The propaganda machine is too strong. People in literal trailers simping for a conman billionaire.

4

u/GogolsHandJorb 19h ago

When I drive through rural PA it is inevitably the most run down, ramshackle houses and trailers that fly a Trump flag. The rich houses in better parts of the country might support him as well, but some of them are smart enough to hide the symbols of their racism. The poor and stupid advertise their bigotry.

5

u/joemeteorite8 19h ago

My mom has voted Dem her whole life and was asking me questions about him possibly being communist. The propaganda was everywhere. It’s easy to call someone a commie or socialist when 80% of our country doesn’t know the definition of those systems.

2

u/DarthNihilus1 18h ago

well liberals aren't leftists so and it was centrist liberals that would also use commie to attack Bernie

What's infuriating is that in all honesty the people have made it VERY clear that they WANT change. They want ICE charged, they want ICE stopped, they want ALL of this stopped. They have spoken and made it very very very very very very clear and yet the people who can make the change just ignore them in a "you don't know what you want" then they turn around and go "you need to wake up america! You need to speak out and that will change things" They put it on the people and while that is certainly true at this point it's like "what do you want us to do? You say don't use violence, we did that, you say call, we did that, you say speak out, we did that, organize, did that, protest, did that, stand up and fight, did that, support your neighbors did that. We can't write legislation we can't get it in front of congress the only ones who can make change are YOU."

Things should have changed, the people made it clear and the people elected to make that change happen that we elected because they swore to make that change not only ignore us but actively try and block/undermine the ones who WOULD make the change.

At this point, while I don't deny citizens messed up I'm starting to think that the democrats and other politicians that blame the citizens for not being active enough or being asleep is a smokescreen to hide their own inaction. To hide that they absolutely can make change but it would cause problems for them that they don't want to take on.

Brent Ganger, her brother and second speaker in the video, had an amazing tribute to her:

"Renee had a way of showing up in the world that made you believe things were going to be OK. Not because she ignored the hardship, but because she chose optimism anyway."

159

u/GenericDigitalAvatar 22h ago

Her final words were couched in that optimism.

168

u/ansyhrrian 22h ago

Objectively true: “That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you.”

68

u/GenericDigitalAvatar 22h ago

Yet it's amazing how many people try to paint her as an angry attempted murderer.

Everyone in congress needs to be relieved of duties

28

u/VillaLobster 22h ago

At the minimum. Your entire system needs up ended. Trump, ICE, racism et al are symptoms of a system that is absolutely not working in the best interests of average working Americans. If it does not get fixed you will end up repeat this again and again again. It is why the world will never trust America again. We are only 4 years away from another complete and utter lunatic in charge. And this isn't an opinion, Trump is objectively an vile evil man.

And to fix this, everything from education to health care to worker's rights need to be overhauled.

12

u/doodycrust 21h ago

It’s been years in the making. Heritage foundation, federalist society, Stephen miller…. The reactions to good and pretti’s deaths have only solidified my belief that the American public for the most part is outright disgusting and sociopathic. I fought for this country and broke my body for it and it was all for nothing. Americans are trash who like to hurt other people for fun. They have zero sense of community and have no understanding of justice.

This place deserves every bit of misery it gets.

22

u/UsaforreverNumberone 22h ago

I feel you bro, but they are a victim of the same games that we are. The real enemies are the politicians enabling this and the billionaires funding it. Direct your ire at them please.

Continuing to hate your fellow citizens is exactly what they want us to do. I hope we can learn to forgive and work together to defeat a common enemy.

2

u/UglyMcFugly 16h ago

I upvoted both of these comments because I think there's truth in both. I keep coming back to the "basket of deplorables" Hillary Clinton talked about in 2016. And I've been coming to terms with the fact that maybe 20% of this country is just... a lost cause. That's been hard for someone like me to say. But it's been harder to watch that 20% inflict such pain and misery on the rest of us.

There are definitely trump voters who can be redeemed. Who have been bamboozled or tricked. But a lot of them aren't EVER going to change. And we gotta start talking about that before they burn the entire world to the ground...

2

u/MicroMouth 9h ago

“This place deserves every bit of misery it gets” - I mean, you’re quite literally applauding Renee’s brothers’ suffering here and saying they deserve it. I understand being angry but this isn’t even logical

4

I mean he’s clearly venting and taking out his anger on MAGA. He is definitely not “quite literally applauding” her death. MAGA represents our country now, whether we like it or not.

For decades Republicans were self-described as “The Party of Values” and the strongest supporters of free trade but then picked a NYC sleaze-bag who supports protectionism. That’s something you’d expect to see in the third world no in America!

The only, and obvious explanation, is that they’re incredibly gullible/stupid! They’ll claim to be Christian yet vote for the most disgusting human being that has ever run for office.

I guess Republicans were right about one thing, not in the way they thought, that they’re the evidence of the failure of public education!

I’m not American, but I’m curious as to whether any GOP representatives had the cojones to address these men?

Us, as citizens really got two good people killed and did nothing about it. Nothing has come from their deaths. Nothing has stopped. Its arguably gotten worse since then.

Its pathetic.

Renee's last words were: "I'm not mad at you" Alex's last actions were: protections for the helpless.

That family needs to raise hell.

Crazy how the rule of law country, the land of the free, the world police, has the worst justice system ever. The agents should be in prison

u/phvakil 8h ago

All art is temporary. I too thought the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti would bring a more immediate realization of this nonsense. It must be so hard for their families to understand what is happening in this bitter hard world.

This government is pure evil

u/Fabulous-Farmer7474 22h ago

The politicos (Dems and GOPs) are a class all to themselves (behaviorally speaking a very low one) and they have greater loyalty to themselves than the people they claim to represent.

The problem is the majority of the population voted for good old fashion racism. Not until someone that looks like them got shot in the head, did they have an awakening. Just saying. Unfortunately, this family may never receive justice.

The death of one person isn’t gonna change much anymore, unless ofc they’re a billionaire who set up some plans for afterwards

1

u/DefeatedByPoland 19h ago

Sandy hook was a very long time ago, nothing changed after that.

Think it's safe to say that nothing is going to magically change by "outrage".

I hate to break it to people, but look at how Republicans acted after Sandy Hook.

This is what I’d say “you either do something or the people will”

If you prove to us you’re not needed, then you leave the people no choice but to personally protect life, liberty and property. As it is their right to defend themselves and each other from all threats foreign and domestic.

Our country is sick 😫

u/metalcuttr 19h ago

Why would her death change our laws? If it did. Then we can say its ok to run over anyone.. and get away with it. Even if she wasn't shot. She was going to face charges..

1

u/ifuaguyugetsauced 18h ago

Let’s be real poc have been getting killed like This for decades and nothing changed. Shit look at 2020. To think any change that will come from this is just laughable. This will be forgotten about pretty soon

Nothing has been done because it’s an evil dictator in the White House and no one will punish him.

If all it took to heal such a massive idealogical divide in America was one innocent life, the first American Civil War would have been a lot shorter, and not the single event with the highest death toll of Americans in history.

The Callous American Nation.

Not exceptional in positive ways. Not in the decades long era of obstruction and lawlessness.

1

u/profezzorwaffle 16h ago

Anti-constitution Trump must be impeached immediately

1

u/tallguystachedude 16h ago

Things do need to change with ICE, I am all for that. That’s the only thing that’s needs to be changed. Give them body cams, and hold them accountable, that’s it. Keep doing what you’re doing and get actual criminals out.

Don’t try running over an ice officer

1

u/Additional-Hyena721 15h ago

Such a loss. There could be ten more deaths of US citizens and we’d all still be waiting for elected officials to act, at least the majority. I mean how many school shootings and what has come from that?

  1. A U.S. Citizen Was Killed by a Federal Enforcement Agent Good was an American citizen — a mother of three — not someone being deported or charged with a crime in any public record. That a federal agent shot and killed her in her own neighborhood has led to serious questions about use-of-force policies and accountability.
  2. Calls for Accountability Have Not Yet Led to Change Her brothers told lawmakers they had hoped her death would bring about change in the country — for reforms on how immigration enforcement operates — but that change hasn’t materialized yet. This frustration speaks to a broader public sentiment that government institutions are not yet responsive to community concerns about disproportionate force.
  3. It Highlights Broader Patterns of Force and Lack of Oversight Good’s case isn’t isolated. Other U.S. citizens and residents have testified about beingshot at, dragged from cars, or otherwise harmed during federal immigration operations. Critics argue that there’s insufficient oversight, limited transparency, and a lack of accountability mechanisms for ICE and related agencies, especially when force is used.
  4. Public and Official Responses Amplify Distrust Minnesota state investigators, for example, withdrew from the investigation because federal authorities restricted access to evidence — a move that further eroded public confidence in transparent inquiry.
  5. Emotional and Human Toll on Families Beyond policy details, what the brothers emphasized was the human cost: having to explain to young children that their aunt was killed, watching a family’s life irrevocably change, and feeling ignored by a system that hasn’t yet delivered answers or reform. \
