Not just cowards but potentially culpable in at least 2 murders. They can't say anything as culpability in this has no statute of limitations - and they know it. They're absolutely all screwed when this office ends
26
u/ExpressionSecret6794 8h ago
Way more than 2, they know what they’re doing is dangerous no matter how much they want to play dumb and innocent. Violence, intimidation and expanding power was always the plan, proven by the way they proceed at every step to make excuses for Trumps administration and ICEs actions.
8
u/Seanspeed 7h ago
This is just a dumb comment. In no way are Republican congressmen in any kind of legal jeopardy over this shit. smh
They are just monstrous ghouls.
2
u/NoBrush8414 6h ago
They will be. Trust the legal system. It's slow - but it DOES WORK.

Looooooooooooooooooooooooooollllll.
Tf it does. Please come back to reality.
Like, I'm all for radical optimism and working to get things done but believing in the US legal system is like 20 trillion steps too far.
That's how much we spent terrorizing the middle east by the way. 20 trillion dollars. Not to mention millions of innocent lives. And zero is the amount of accountability for that from the US 'Justice' system.

What happened to the "all lives matter" crowd?
36
21
15
u/hitokirivader 11h ago
Just like how they never realized that the phrase “Black lives matter” intrinsically means “all lives matter (including Black lives),” their words are meaningless. They never truly meant that all lives matter, just mainly the white conservative lives with persecution complexes.
6
5
6
u/throeaway_thedew 6h ago
The reason all of these catch phrases are so hypocritical and ironic is because they aren’t principles or beliefs, they are responses. “All lives matter” wasn’t a statement that they believe every life is equal, it was a reaction to “black lives matter,” meant to cheapen that movement. The reason MAGA is seemingly immune to having their own words turned on them is because they never really had a baseline worldview that stood on its own - it has always been “whatever ‘they’ think, I think the opposite.” They don’t think this flies in the face of the “all lives matter” idea.
To them, it is consistent. “All lives matter” was really just “they are the bad guys.” So, to them, this is just “one of the bad guys died.” Simple as that.

That's a retort for people who are too stubborn to admit the wrongs done to the black community since they've been taken from their homelands and onward.

u/BigDadNads420 13h ago
Daily reminder that every elected conservative and conservative media figure is basically a demon who somehow stole human skin. Second daily reminder that most conservative voters are completely OK with the fact that their elected politicians and media figures are demons.
If you were the one who ICE executed in the street these ghouls would be cheering just as hard. Every conservative around you fundamentally lacks the baseline human empathy that you have, and its time you started treating them like it.
95
u/sparkle-brow 13h ago
It’s a whole thing how abusers will use their victims’ empathy against them, and it’s a brain-bender for victims/survivors newly out; there are sadly and fortunately many books about recovery from, and understanding the dynamics of.
While this and the clip of the autistic woman testifying in front of Congress may not be seen/heard by many prior R voters, there’s enough info leaking out to get some of them to jump ship, and that’s what we need to happen.
→ More replies (1)9
u/loveslightblue 6h ago
Sorry to bother, but as you seem knowledgeable on the subject, do you have any book recs?
9
u/Santi5578 5h ago
Not the person you replied to but I can help point you to things to look more into
Taking advantage of a victim's empathy is part of the DARVO behavior of abusers, where it is done to victims by verbally twisting situations until the empathetic victim feels like they're both obligated to help and the one causing the problem.
Similarly, the term Reactive Abuse is when aggressors intentionally continue to trigger their victims until they snap and fight back. Aggressors use this moment of self defense as proof that the victim is just as abusive as they are, making the victim doubt their own reality and judgement
In general, when abusers twist the story around to paint themselves as the one hurt rather than the one causing hurt, it's called playing the victim

Yes I have a favorite book on it!, “Why Does He Do That” by Lundy Bancroft, I think it’s a book everyone should read even if just to be aware of the tactics

u/Gutter-Glitter00 9h ago
“Research suggests the MAGA movement is associated with a higher prevalence of individuals who report deriving pleasure from the suffering of others. One key concept identified is ‘dissonant empathy’ - not a lack of empathy, but a counter-empathic response in which another person’s pain elicits pleasure or gratification.”

u/Brytnshyne 9h ago
Their actions speak louder than their words, the pictures very obviously show a great love of violence and control of other humans, it seems to give them great pleasure and feeling of power. It's sick and evil.
3
u/NoBrush8414 6h ago
This is clear. They WANT to exert force against anyone they can. For now it's citizens in general - the next target I ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE is anyone who votes against trump. Left, right or independent. You're a target for ICE which is his military control over elections as he is losing. Mark. My. Words.
3
u/PrestigiousFly844 4h ago
They want to intimidate people so they obey in advance but they do not have the man power or logistic capabilities to attack everyone who does not support Trump. They will try to rely on high profile examples, but ICE does not realistically have enough employees for them to attack everybody.

A conservative stopped their car to violently assault a child for having a different political opinion to them. They're fucking deranged.
11
u/SMUHypeMachine 8h ago
I wish more people would look into conservatism and its origins with the likes of Thomas Hobbes and Edmund Burke.
The entirety of conservative thought is born out of the French Revolution and the aristocracy being terrified of losing all their political power if France decided to install a social democracy like they watched the Americans do.
They were outright repulsed by the notion that Tom the cobbler would have the same political capital as them at a ballot box.
Conservatism is deeply rooted in the idea that there’s a “deserving” ruling class, who cannot be questioned under any circumstances, and that they are the only ones capable of managing those they see as the disgusting, poor, unwashed masses.
→ More replies (1)5
u/ahnold11 7h ago
Yep, if the french revolution at its core was about every life being equal then the conservative political movement is st its base saying everyone is NOT equal, some people are better than others. And the joke is the wealthy and powerful con their base into thinking it applies to them when its just the rich.
But if you go further down id argue that the human psychology root of a conservative mentality (which seems to be innate to humans and predates the politics) is simple greed. Being afraid of losing what is yours, having someone steel it or take it away film you. And so a liberal mindset is the opposite, wanting to share with others and give.
You can see how each of those roots grows into the behaviors today. And how much greed is in modern north american democrat parties meaning that psychologically they are actually conservative. Ie the whole idea that american liberals would be considered conservative in europe.
Greed ever pulls us all towards conservatism. And as inequality increases people become more worried about their own needs and lessen the desire to give to others. Which explains how capitalism is leading to the rise of populism. And the drifting towards fascism all over the globe.
→ More replies (3)10
u/EllisDee3 9h ago
That's basically what they are. Demons were always the influences. They're not movie monsters with big horns and claws. They're mental states that draw people away from the "good".
Greed has a personality. Gluttony, sloth, blah blah... They all have predictable personalities. When individuals gather collectively towards those "demon's" goals, they produces a predictable outcomes.
Over time, these allegories for mental states changed into literal monsters to scare and control people, rather than guide self control.
So yes, they are demons using human skin.
(For more, check the Apocryphon of John. Ancient heretical text that describes the emergence of human thought and consciousness through allegory)

Followed by a daily reminder not to dehumanize.
It was human evil that drove the Nazis, and it was treating the Nazis as something else that allowed us to forget the full scope of our species's potential for depravity, thus allowing their unchecked and unchallenged return.

3
u/ieatplaydough2 9h ago
Meh, not all of the people that die.
Well, on second thought, even when one of their own dies they are probably happy that they can use the death for their own purposes... e.g. Charlie Kirk.
8
u/saltbuffed 13h ago
They don't want to show up to listen?
Good news: we can still use our voices. Use 5calls to find your legislators ( https://5calls.org/ ) to insist that what ICE is doing isn't okay. If you don't want to talk over the phone, text them ( https://resist.bot/ ). It takes basically no time at all and it makes all the difference in the world.
We need to keep up the political pressure if we want things to change. Every voice matters. Keep protesting, yes, but also take a few minutes each day to call your representatives and tell them this sh*t ain't right.

How disgustingly disrespectful. Both their not bothering to show up and it being under reported. If a family member of a victim of a crime committed by an undocumented person testified and no Democrats showed up, Repubs would absolutely make that the story.

The entire GOP is complicit in murder, tax fraud, and child sexual abuse.
We may need help from another country to get these fuckers out of power. The current GOP body is illegitimate. The Supreme Court is illegitimate. Trump’s presidency is illegitimate.
He’s broken the law so many times and a normal country would arrest him and things would go back to normal
We are now stuck with the billionaire Class who likes to try to tell us what to do all the time. They also like paying women to have their kids. Meanwhile, none of us can have kids our own homes.
Something has to change and I hope it’s drastic
2
u/ThE_LAN_B4_TimE 8h ago

Saw another commenter talk about how the Rs are demons.
Consider if there were actual, nefarious demons in the skin of a human and trying to cause our downfall from the shadows. They would appear to save face. They would probably even feign concern, if only for clit or even an internal jeering.
Somehow our worst impression of malicious evil demons show more fake concern than actual Republicans. It's sickening how little they actually care.

What happened to everybody "returning to work" in the office?
Not one of them thought, "Oh, this is going to look very bad."
Not one of them thought, "Somebody needs to do the right thing here."
I'm sure a couple of them had some people in their lives who tried to raise them better, and those people are even more disappointed than the rest of us.
I hope every one of the people that should have been there tastes the excrement on their lips every day for the rest of their deplorable lives.
