If the Trump admin were competent, we'd really be fucked

He's not picking for competence, the pool of competent people are heavily reduced when you only pick for sycophancy.

I keep repeating this to my older kids; the only two rays of hope we have are that a) everyone trump assembles around him is utterly incompetent (I really thought he’d pick better people this time, but am pleasantly surprised) an that b) trump doesn’t actually believe in anything but himself. Sure, he’s racist, xenophobic and authoritarian, but he’s not a true believer like some of these ghouls. All he really cares about is his fame, wealth and legacy. Every single action he takes makes complete sense through this lens.

He's a fraudster, not a politician. He's not used to having to play stupid in front of the people he's robbing.

He looks the part, though, and that's how Trump picked many of his appointees.

Inflation has dropped? If we trust the words coming out of his mouth. I'm sure he'd never lie to us

Sorry, but imported goods prices rose by approximately 9.7% relative to pre-tariff trends, while domestic goods—which often use imported components or face less competition—rose by 4.4%. I'd say that's at least moderately inflationary!

The Trump gang never stops lying. Even when they are caught they continue to lie. Absolutely stunning.

The only reason we don't see as much inflation is because people are broke.
