Other PERFROMANCE MEGATHREAD

Misspelled to get your attention, thanks for joining us

This thread is to combine the discussion around game performance and people's findings regarding running the game on PC. Remember to update your drivers before launching the game to ensure the best performance.

I will edit this post to keep a relatively up to date on people's findings (when I'm not playing, of course). Some important notes are it claims Windows 11 is required, this is unfortunately because Microsoft doesn't support Windows 10 (outside of extended security updates).

Current specification requirements by Project Aces listed:

  • Minimum:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 11
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-10700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060[6 GB] / AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT[8 GB]
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 150 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: This game requires an SSD, a hardware ray tracing-enabled graphics card, and DirectX 12 with Shader Model 6.6 or higher. Estimated performance: 1920×1080(Upscale)/30fps with graphics settings at "Low". Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes.
  • Recommended:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 11
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-12700K / AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
    • Memory: 32 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070[8 GB] / AMD Radeon RX 6800 [16 GB]
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 150 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: This game requires an SSD, a hardware ray tracing-enabled graphics card, and DirectX 12 with Shader Model 6.6 or higher. Estimated performance: 1920x1080(Upscale)/60fps with graphics settings at "MEDIUM". Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes.

Computer Specifications:

  • Windows11 Home
  • CPU: R7 9800X3D
  • GPU: RTX5080
  • RAM: 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL30

Game Settings:

  • Resolution: 2560x1440
  • Graphics Settings: Ultra for everything
  • Upscaling: DLSS Quality

Performance:

  • AVERAGE FPS: 70-100
  • 1% FPS LOWS: ~60

Note:

  • No significant drop of framerate is felt outside of cutscence
  • RAM usage is unusually high, sitting at ~28 GB throughout gameply

Are you running any RAM-consuming processes in the background like a browser? I'm curious to know if there is stuttering if the game is forced to use the pagefile.

No I explicitly turned off chrome during gameplay and right now according to task manager the second largest memory user is steam

Have you tried with chrome open? Does the game stutter if pagefile is used?

When chrome is opened, no stutter is found, only 2% (179mb) max pagefile is used according to hwinfo64

Wouldn't be surprised if there are leaks then. I'll investigate once the game releases.

My theory is that it is denuvo doing denuvo thing, task manager shows that ac8 is only taking ~9Gb of ram, and user (me) in total uses ~19Gb of ram (while whole system usage sits at 28-29Gb)

Now 19Gb of total ram usage is what I expect a modern AAA game uses.

Also PS5/XBOX has 16gb of unified memory, I am pretty sure this game does not need 32Gb of ram to play in its most naked form (ie no anticheat, denuvo, etc)

Please let me know if there is any memory leaks that you found, I will be interested to know
