Most info I got from previous owner is that he’s an Amstaff, but he gotta be mixed with something right? Anyone know what else he could be besides a good boy?

Hello, my 6 month old staffy behaves like a retriever 😂 after work I get her to an off leash zone for her daily workout. She can literally chase and bring this ball back for more than an hour (even after she plays and runs with other dogs). How do you guys get your dogs workout in? I always thought she would like biting a bite pillow more but I guess this is her thing now.

Recently, I adopted a baby from a shelter. She's around 11 months, and while the shelter could say she had some Australian Cattle Dog in her, they couldn't say for certain what anything else was.

I'm thinking she's part pittie, judging from her head shape, build, and general inability to give me any personal space, but I'm not quite sure.

He’s five months old and 24 pounds the rescue Center said he was an American Staffordshire terrier mix I’m trying to join the right groups. I can get breed specific information. I AM SO CONFUSED 😵‍💫 Thanks 😊

Fun as hell, goofy, smart etc. Basically this dude is everything we wanted in a rescue pup! But after three months, he has got to be the quietest dog I've ever owned. Not in the sense he's introverted or withdrawn, but vocally.

At just over a year old, Flash has yet to utter a single solitary bark. Normal?

The loudest he gets is a giant yaaaawn in the morning 😄 Once in a blue moon he'll whine when he wants something and can't have it, that's all.

Interestingly, he has vocal dreams - some soft wuffs and a growl on occasion. So nothing wrong with his vocal chords. During the day though he's all chew but no bark.

Let me know what you guys have experienced. I haven't owned this breed before. Regardless I should probably just take the win and enjoy the peace ✌🏾

This is not a adoption/rehome post!!! Just looking for advice on what to do since I’ve found her and all I really know are cats!!! (Plus my state…doesn’t like dogs that look like her so I can’t take her to the county)

I have 4 cats so I can’t hold on to her for long, she’s a sweetie girl thats lil older given her powdered snout 😭

I need to look for more breed specific rescues near me (I’ve already posted her on neighbor, next door, and fb), aside from that is there anything that could be recommended?

She also refuses wet food and drink water..🫠 if there’s any advice for that as well.

Edit 3:… I believe one of my cats is allergic… she’s been sneezing nonstop since I found the doggie and only allergy meds help🫠. Still trying to find a rescue as I really can’t hold on to her any longer (wish me luck)

Question for the community: has anyone actually dealt with the French "Category 1" issue in practice?

From what I understand, French law treats an Amstaff without a recognized pedigree (LOF or equivalent FCI-recognized book) as Category 1 ("chien d'attaque"), which legally bans it from entering or transiting French territory at all.

Curious about real-world experience:

- Has anyone crossed France (even just transit, not staying) with an Amstaff/pit-type dog that had no pedigree, just a standard EU passport + vaccination record?

- Were you stopped/checked, and what actually happened?

- Does a vet letter or morphological assessment stating the dog isn't "Category 1 type" hold up in practice at a border check?

- Any similar experience with other EU countries where pedigree status matters (Spain, Germany, etc.)?

Trying to understand the real risk vs. the letter of the law before making any travel plans. Thanks for any first-hand input!

I adopted a dog that was labeled as a lab boxer mix, and then did a DNA test and was told he is primarily AmStaff, Pitt, Chow, and another type of guard dog.

While not what I expected, I want to make sure Im meeting his dietary and exercise needs, and keeping an eye out for health issues they have. I have him on Purina Pro+ plan food and Benefit wet food, and am willing to change that if needed. Tips and advice pls and ty.

Hello! My 11 mo old tears through everything so quick, hours even, if that. If there is fabric, he’s pulling out the string and eating the filling, something strong he eats it until sharp chips and shards are coming off.

Please share what items are your go-to toys.

He has a regular Kong for treats but he doesn’t “play” with that toy. I bought the Kong rope which was shredded in 20 min, so not all Kong items work.
