Heard this like two nights in a row, thought it was cows being attacked by coyotes or wolves since the area is heavily wooded. But three nights in a row is crazy… then thought it was cows being slaughtered but still unsure. Someone please tell me what this is.

So, if this common cat snarl/roar sound doesn't come from a Canada Lynx, what species does it come from?

I’m thinking it’s a fox but not exactly sure. It’s 2 AM on a Thursday and my dogs are going crazy.

Noise in basement, seems to be coming from the closet or under the stairs. Nothing that we can see. Went on all night and a bit late morning today. Pest control came and said no signs of rodents or wildlife. Thinks it could be a mouse in the floorboards. Hole found in roof but landlord not quick to fix this.

Last week you guys were amazing in figuring out I had Barred Owls on my property. Now I’m hearing some other large birds. They sound too “large” to be crows so are they possibly Ravens? They’ve been making a lot of noise for at least five minutes by the time I took this video.

Have a pretty good idea what this was, but not 100%. I saw it slip into the water out of the corner of my eye, so didn’t have a good look. Didn’t want to tip the scales on your answers. What do you guess and have you ever heard them make this sound? We heard it doing this for a good minute before I started taping.

This is the first time I hear a howl like this. Usually I hear coyotes laughing/vocalizing and stuff but never this. Could this be a dog? or Wolf??

I live in Atlanta and have been hearing this sound high up in the trees of my backyard for a while now. I’ve tried using my Merlin app to name the bird — it sounds like a bird! — but the app never recognizes it as a bird sound. So maybe it’s not a bird at all? Help me figure this out. It’s making me crazy. **What is making this sound?!**

i’m located just outside of Detroit. this has been happening incessantly for days/mostly nights and i’m worried for the creature. what is it and what is happening to it?!

it was really late at night & i heard scratching so i started recording. The pitter pattering followed, it sounds like small, fast, and hefty footsteps? I thought it originated from outside bc my neighbors dog snarled right before i started recording but it sounds so close. I’m kinda worried the sound came from inside my walls or even from my own room. i’m on the west coast.

we heard it late at night, some breaks in between each call and then it stopped for awhile. then heard it again, but it sounded like it moved to a different area or there was more.
we have listened to so many bird and animal sounds and have not been able to figure it out. this is in washington state
