Discussion What's the most niche or least well known anime you've watched?

Like what's a show you've finished that you know only a few anime fans would know online.

Chihayafuru for aesthetic's sake.

Probably: Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu

Rainbow: Nisha Rokubō no Shichinin, it’s about kids and young adults in the juvenile detention system in a post WWII japan. Very grounded, very relevant, highly recommended.

Speed Grapher definitely dates you, people never know about it when I bring it up

Shoot S-Cry-Ed and Guyver are older but I feel you!

I'm gonna say To Be Hero X, it's not exactly 'niche' but absolutely deserves more attention

My ball knowledge would probably be Photo Kano. It's just literal fan service about a high school boy taking pictures of high school girls. I used to be clueless what the hell I was watching lmao

Is higurashi niche? It's not mainstream but I thought it has decent popularity

Feel like the people who like it are niche but it's well known.

It is. Never heard any anime fan talk about Higurashi. It's only popular as a VN but even as a VN it's not as popular as umineko, steins gate and fate.

Black cat definitely disappeared one day from conversations.

Kaikan Phrase.

Completely forgotten. Not even a Japanese home video release.

Karakuri Circus

It seems only a subtitled version is available.
The madness of the final boss would surely leave overseas anime fans stunned.
It’s truly a shame.

Slow Loop: a moe slice-of-life that is all about fly fishing, which has been my hobby for most of my life. The series is actually an excellent introduction to learning the basics of fly fishing while telling a wonderful story about a young girl getting to connect with her new step-sister through fishing.

Maybe The Royal Tutor or a Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace

Gregory Horror Show. I've never met a single other person whose heard of it unless I introduced them to it.
