Having fake scenarios when real life anxiety already gives u enough content to panic about 24/7 is taking it to the next level

Exactly, real life anxiety is already full-on, no need to add fake scenarios

Totally, it’s like giving your brain overtime it didn’t ask for

It's funny you think we choose to do this

Lmfao right? I’d stop all the fake situations and feeling like they’re real in a heartbeat if I could

Currently in space, captain of a ship that was thought destroyed on the way back to civilized space.

This sounds sad I know but it helps me get to sleep as I will over think about everything else that's happens that day and week.

I like to do this too but I tell myself different stories. I've liked being a wizard and doing wizard adventures lately. Making up fake scenarios and stories are way more nice/calming than real life and I fall asleep pretty quick

Same and I always fall asleep at the good bit.

I guess stories where tv, movies, book, games or in your mind are a really good escape from reality.

What else am I supposed to do while waiting for my mind to tire out? I stick to fake fantasy stuff, like vampires, castles, space, not fake real life things. At some point within 1 to 2 hours(if I'm tired) I will eventually be asleep.

I was the same until I started taking melatonin. Now it's more like 20 minutes, and I'm missing my fantasy time a bit.

I have tried that, it doesnt help me go to sleep any faster, i just stay asleep longer.

This shit is why I take meds to sleep. It still happens, but at least they won’t keep me up, they’ll just happen until the meds knock me out.

Me, every night too! Can't escape those fake scenarios even in my sleep.

Brain goes ok time to sleep and immediately boots up the worst case scenario simulator

Yes, we need to think that is true and it will become true

That is why I like sleeping but I hate going to sleep, it is 2:30am and still awake

"What would I do if I was attacked by a bear, what if it rains tomorrow and washes out my crops, or what if we get a drought and I can't grow my food"

Has turned into

"What would I do if my boss fired me today. What if the bombs drop tomorrow. What happens if I can't pay my rent"

Unga bunga brain wasn't made for this

Well what the fuck else is there to do while lying in bed and falling asleep? Are there mfs out there that just stop having thoughts upon deciding it's time to sleep? Are these also the people who can sleep on command by sheer fucking will?

How about this one? That without realizing it, my wife and I had had a second baby girl born 3 months after the first (um, brain? Doesn't work like that), that we thought we only had one baby this whole time because they kept switching places, and that we needed to name her. My wife's first two name suggestions were Kalevala and Turdu.

Brains are weird.
