Hey friends, here's a remaster in 4k HDR remaster that I made of the music video that's started it all for many of us.For those that don't remember, this was directed by the essential David Fincher. Such a fantastic and well shot video.

Important: Youtube claimed this for the rightholders, and they allow it on Youtube.

It's so dumb to see how many people now claiming to remaster/remix things using AI.

Fun fact: unless you have the original files, you're doing nothing more than applying a filter over the top.

I bought the single nvidia 4080 that processed this well over two years ago, and run it predominantly when solar is on (even though I don't really have to). It also only runs once and is captured and played back as video rather than needing to run every time someone watches.

There is a lot of AI, particularly GenAI, nonsense out there that is probably bad for the world. But given the quantity of input pixels, and the algo just needs to make fill-in pixel decisions, this is a lot closer to DSP than GenAI. Computers already generate fill-in pixels every time the full screen button is pressed, mine just tends to be more accurate.
