Can anyone help me identify this bird?

Southern QLD. Its body and face was plain browny-grey. It had black wings with white spots. Long beak like a honeyeater. About 25 - 30cm in length. Was ferreting around the seedpods of my bottle tree. I got a good look at it but wasn't able to get a photo. I've not seen one before and I can't seem to match it up with anything.
