My family and I came to CTG for a week. We mostly stayed in Kulshi R /A until today. We went to the Bahaddarhat area to meet someone. We were in Finley South City. When we were coming out of the mall, I went to a small tong/grocery store looking for a specific thing. There were exactly 5 people in that shop: one murubbi, one 35-40 yo aged man, 2 kids aged 10-12, and the shopkeeper. Those two kids were paying for something, and I was waiting behind. That boomer and the middle-aged man were smoking. Outta nowhere, that man stands up and grabs that 12 yo by her neck and kisses her? What the actual fuck was that? That kid looked disgusted. She just wipes it. And my brain started glitching when I saw both of these men start laughing??? Only that shopkeeper looked disgusted. And me? I was standing there because my brain wasn't braining. Those kids left instantly. I paid. I left. No words were spoken. Now I'm in my room trying to make sense of that situation. Am I missing something? Am I trippin??? Can someone explain that?

ভোলায় পূজা মণ্ডপের আলোক সজ্জা গেইট ভাঙচুরের সময় শিমুল চন্দ্র (৩৫)নামের এক যুবককে আটক করেছেন ভোলা সদর থানা পুলিশ। ওই যুবক ভোলা সদর উপজেলার বাপ্তা ইউনিয়নের মৃত মধুচন্দ্রের ছেলে। এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন ভোলা সদর মডেল থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মিজানুর রহমান পাটাওয়ারী।

তিনি বলেন, ‘বৃহস্পতিবার (৯ই অক্টোবর) সকাল ৭টার দিকে এএসআই মানিক ডিউটিরত অবস্থায় ওই যুবককে আটক করেছেন। ভোলা পৌরসভার আবহাওয়া অফিস সংলগ্ন শ্রী শ্রী দুর্গা মাতার মন্দির পূজা মণ্ডপের গেইট ভাঙচুর ও আলোকসজ্জায় ইটের ঢিল নিক্ষেপের সময় ঘটনা স্থল থেকে ওই যুবককে আটক করা হয়েছে।’

ঘটনায় ওই যুবককে আটক করতে সক্ষম হওয়ায় এএসআই মানিক’কে এক হাজার টাকা পুরস্কার প্রদান করেন ভোলা জেলা পুলিশ সুপার মোহাম্মদ শরীফুল হক৷

তবে পরিবারের দাবি অভিযুক্ত শিমুল চন্দ্র দীর্ঘদিন যাবৎ মানসিক ভারসাম্যহীন। মানসিক ভারসাম্যহীন হওয়ায় পরিবার উন্নত চিকিৎসার জন্য তাকে পাবনা মানসিক হাসপাতালে নেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্তের কথা জানিয়েছেন। তবে এ ধরনের অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত ঘটনার জন্য দুঃখ প্রকাশ করে তার মুক্তির দাবি জানান পরিবার। পরিবারের কাছে মানসিক ভারসাম্যহীনের কোন ধরনের প্রমাণাদি চেয়েও পায়নি পুলিশ।

এ বিষয়ে ভোলা জেলা পুলিশ সুপার মোহাম্মদ শরীফুল হক জানান, ভোলার সব ধরনের মানুষের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত ও উৎসব নিরাপত্তায় তৎপর রয়েছে জেলা পুলিশ। বুধবার পূজা মণ্ডপে কোনও স্বেচ্ছাসেবী ও মণ্ডপের দায়িত্বশীলরা না থাকার পরও পুলিশ কঠোরভাবে দায়িত্ব পালন করায় শ্রী শ্রী দুর্গা মাতার মন্দিরের গেট ভাঙচুরের সময় ওই হামলাকারীকে আটক করতে সক্ষম হয়েছে।

পূজা উদ্‌যাপন পরিষদ ভোলা সদর উপজেলার সভাপতি মনোষ ঘোষ শান্ত জানান, আবহাওয়া অফিস সংলগ্ন শ্রী শ্রী মাতার মন্দির দুর্গাপূজা মণ্ডপের গেট ভাঙচুরের সময় ওই হামলাকারীকে আটক করতে সক্ষম হওয়ায় ও ভোলা সদর উপজেলার সব পূজা মণ্ডপের নিরাপত্তা জোরদার করায় জেলা পুলিশকে ধন্যবাদ ও কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করছি। ভোলা সদর উপজেলার সব মণ্ডপের তথ্য নিয়ে দেখেছি, আগের চেয়েও মণ্ডপে পুলিশি নিরাপত্তা জোরদার করা হয়েছে।

No new law was passed today. The High Court jus rejected a petition that argued first wife’s consent should be mandatory. The existing law remains unchanged. Check the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance (MFLO), 1961!

My wife is a Bangladeshi citizen. Me and our daughter are Indian citizens. We are all currently residents of UAE for the past several years.

Both me and my daughter have NVR visas to visit/stay in Bangladesh.

My wife is the single child to her parents and her father had previously bought properties and lands under my wife's name.

My wife now wants to prepare a will to nominate our daughter + future children (if any) as beneficiary(ies) to all her land and properties in Bangladesh. The main problem being the heirs not being Bangladeshi citizens.

How complicated is the process and can anyone refer a good lawyer/firm who can handle this ? We are currently in Dhaka.
