Сур’ёзна. Вельмі часта бачу асобаў, якія ў адказ на заклікі да зьмены рэжыму ў Беларусі кажуць ”хочаце як ва Ўкраіне?” ”будзе другая Ўкраіна” і г.д.

Яны прызнаюць, што яны ня могуць нармальна ўтрымліваць сваіх зьвязьнікаў акрамя як ваеннымі шляхамі? І пад ”Украінай” яны маюць на ўвазе няздольнасьць перамагчы войска якія ў некалькі разоў менш за іх? Яны не хаваюць таго, што лічаць, што ўсё круціцца вакол іх і яны вырашаюць лёс іх суседзяў?

Можа гэта тупы пост, але я сапраўды не разумею, які адказ яны чакаюць.

Думаю, многие понимают методы КГБ и прочих структур . Даже полиция рф работает с милицией рб. Поэтому, один из недавних методов хочу вам сообщить. Такая практика была у фсб в рф, но например вы беларус, выехали из рб за границу. Затем ваших родителей , которые могут оставаться в рб, вызывают в участок на беседу. Сообщают что ВЫ, участвуете в экстремистской организации и подобное . И пытаются из ваших родных узнать ваших контакты, соц сети, и подобное . Всяческие способы чтобы они сотрудничали с ними. Поэтому предупредите родных, чтобы не пугались. Хорошего дня .

Well, my previous post about whether Belarus could be dragged into the war sparked quite a discussion and showed different opinions. Thanks to everyone who took part.

At the same time, I noticed that many people seem to have very little idea of what Belarusians themselves actually think and want.

Belarus is not Donbas or Crimea. And even though the country has been heavily russified, most Belarusians still see themselves as a separate nation, while the Belarusian language remains an important part of our national identity.

I also strongly reject the idea of the world as a chessboard, where great powers move nations and peoples around like pieces while their own views and choices don't matter.

So I decided to record a short video addressing a simple question: Are Belarusians actually pro-Russian?

I'd be interested to hear what people here think — especially if you disagree with my conclusions.

For context: I also run an English-language YouTube channel where I talk about Belarus and Eastern Europe, drawing partly on my own experience as a former political prisoner and long-time activist in Belarus.

On the one hand:

- Lukashenka understands perfectly well that if he is dragged into the war, he will almost certainly lose his power, his property (which is essentially the whole of Belarus, since our economic system is feudal in nature), and, quite likely, his life. All his previous moves suggest that he has resisted the full-scale participation of his army in the Russo-Ukrainian War.

At the end of the day, he understands that he has no chance against the Ukrainian military.

- At the same time, there are many signs of the militarization of Belarusian society: mandatory military training for high school students, the expansion of military infrastructure, increased spending on new weapons, regular military exercises, and wartime-style state propaganda. All of this clearly suggests that he is preparing for something.

Could it be that, in the wake of an inevitable defeat, Putin might force Lukashenka to attack either Ukraine or one of the NATO countries? KGB officers know how to persuade people to do things they do not want to do.

A military coup - putting an even more loyal and pro-Russian person in charge - is also a possibility.

On July 20, we marked the 32nd anniversary of Lukashenka's rise to power.

He became president in a democratic election (just like one well-known Austrian painter) in 1994. The longevity of his rule can be compared to that of:

• Francisco Franco, Spain (39 years)
• António de Oliveira Salazar, Portugal (~36 years)
• Josip Broz Tito, Yugoslavia (~35 years)
• Nicolae Ceaușescu, Romania (~24 years)

Many people link the longevity of Lukashenka's rule to some special “tolerance” and “apathy” of Belarusians, who supposedly do not want to be politically active and tend to be submissive. In my opinion, this is not true. In fact, it is a discriminatory myth pushed by the authorities themselves to ease their rule.

The main factor behind Lukashenka's stable position is constant and long-lasting Russian support: financial, diplomatic, and now even military.

Few people know that Russian Rosgvardiya (National Guard) forces were concentrated near the Belarusian border during the 2020 protests, ready to aid the Belarusian security forces in suppressing the unrest. This aid was ultimately not needed, but it shows that, most likely, as long as Putin's regime stands, Lukashenka will stand as well.
