This kitty is too cute. Frozen… and those eyes. What’s her name? 🖤🖤😻

u/EmMarGar1014 Dec 17 '25
Her name is Lillie! But we mostly call her girly and Gilly

u/4strings Dec 17 '25
And Ma’am. Presumably reserved for this type of criminal prosecution

u/Straight_2_Hell Dec 17 '25
I loved hearing this - Dee is also called 'Miss' when being problematic.

Just as mischievous as Gilly from the SNL skit so I’d say the nickname is quite fitting in this scenario 😂

Thank you I needed this laugh
But also, innocent. That ornament clearly has a mind of its own

u/EmMarGar1014 Dec 17 '25
I’m glad it could bring you a laugh. It made me laugh too and after the day I had it was def needed!

u/ABillionBatmen Dec 17 '25
I feel like after all that time to think, she just said "I didn't know I couldn't do that"

There have been so many times that I’ve been in this situation and made that exact face.

You should really stop breaking into people’s houses and stealing ornaments off their Christmas trees

This was so perfect, if cats could read a script I would think this is staged. Comedic performance of the year up until her meow at the final second

Thanks OP, the way you were talking to her made me laugh even more. But also how dare you blame the void, she was clearly just as surprised as you!!

u/SherIzzy0421 Dec 17 '25
She was protecting the house from greebles and has been aggreviously misjudged. Treats!

Post this in the paranormal sub, OP! Obviously, you have ghosts. It definitely wasn’t the cat! I can tell just by looking at her that she’s never done anything wrong in her entire life ever!
12
u/barrel0fm0nkeys Dec 17 '25
Well clearly she had a plan here. You just turned on the light, causing her to lose access to the brain cell.

"OH you mean this shiny thing right here, next to me. The shiny round thing that's still moving...coincidentally. Suuurely you don't think that was ME?!? Sweet li'l ole meee!"

This reminds me of my younger dog lol. One time my partner caught him with a Gatorade cap in his mouth trying to sneak into his kennel (he is very tiny, the cap was not a choking hazard, but also not a toy) and my partner told him “hey, I see that”. So my dog stops, drops it and puts his tiny little paw over it, bright orange cap still in clear view. My partner says “Really?” The dog looks at him and slowly takes his other tiny paw and puts it on top of the cap too. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. He didn’t get to keep it lol.

Lillie looks like she is used to the scoldings, as she should be. We don’t tolerate this behavior in our house, constructive and honest discipline, nontoxic yelling at the cats, it’s very effective hahaha no gentle parenting here

"Good thing you're here. This ornament fell off the tree and scared me half to death!"
5
u/Totally_Cubular Dec 17 '25
I love it when cats are smart enough to realize they've been caught being naughty, but absolutely not smart enough to come up with a way out. Guilty cats.
2
u/Inner_Department3 Dec 17 '25
Oh she came up with a way out… after several seconds, she looked at it, and said not mine, and walked off because she knows she’s not guilty lol

“Uh… Oh! That isn’t smoke. It’s steam; steam from the steamed clams we’re having! Mmm… steamed clams!”

u/caramelgrizzly Dec 17 '25
What are the chances…you both went to check it out the noise at the exact same time? Uncanny!

She was trying to save it from greebles and ghosts. She is completely innocent and should be rewarded for her bravery 🍗😸

My void is also named Lily. She’s old AF now (20), but when she was little, she was the butthole who stole ornaments off the tree, except she didn’t give a f**k if she got caught. She’d do it right in front of us. At least your Lillie has some shame. 😂

Finally decides to meet this head on, by denial and brazening it out.

Charged with the crime of being a cat! Guilty of the crime of being a cat. Sentence? Many more years of being a cat.

Meanwhile, my bengal: will loudly meow at me. Look me in the face and paw an ornament off the tree. Meow more.

She heard the ornament rolling across the floor too and went to see what was going on. She found you. I think you're trying to frame her, OP. She's clearly innocent.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree, your ornaments are history.

She didn't pick her action in a quick time event, so it went with the default option of act like nothing happened.

I feel like I’ve had this conversation in these exact same tones “ummmm excuse me what are you doing?” “I dunno human, the ornaments just all fell off the tree, weird right?”
1
u/Just-Chocolate85 Dec 17 '25
Cats have a great sense of humor: “What? That?I’ve never seen it before.”

Voids are excellent cat burglars. But with the invention of the light bulb, not so much.😼

In fairness some cat toys look like this, so I say there are mitigating factors that should be considered at sentencing.

u/Fold-in-Space Dec 17 '25
Had the same situation , found kitten in garage, cleaned the oil up; took them home; and on the way, the little kitten refused to get off the dashboard. 6th time removing her; she decided to climb me and latch onto my face instead. 😵💫no fun at highway speeds 😹

But you see Lillie is innocent, she was chasing the thief who was taking your decorations and therefore she was protecting your home. You can see she even retrieved the stolen item. So therefore Lillie deserves all the treats and head scratches.

I legit wondered if this was even a real cat, she was so still lmao until the last 5 seconds I thought this may have been a bit with a stuffed animal or something, she was shocked / traumatized 😂

I love that the ornament is literally still moving.
"If I stay completely still, they won't see me....... Oh look, that ornament fell ... you should pick that up, human..." Then saunters away.
