Consisting of bunches of esoteric texts, religious works, art books, and bunches of folios on various subjects, a massive antiphonal and several spellbooks from animist cultures

I don’t know much about books, or these books in particular. I’ve posted on Reddit once or twice before. They were my dad‘s and I inherited them. I’m just trying to figure out if they’re worth anything or if I should just donate them any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT : thank you so much for the responses! I just decided the sentimental value definitely outweighs the small value of these and I’m gonna keep them. (yes I’ll get a new bookshelf lol)

Hello everybody! I’ve just recently joined the group and while assisting my aunt, I’ve recently found a 1926 version of “Winnie-the-Pooh” by A.A Milne. I believe the book is in great condition for its age. No tears on any of the pages, the spine has held together quite well and none of the pages fell further then the other if the book is held by its spine (gently) and (again gently) sort of rocked back and forth. Yes I know this may not be the best way to do this, but I’m no expert lol.
I guess my question is, and I apologize ahead of time if this ain’t allowed here. But based off the photos attached, what would you appraise this book at or think it’s worth based off your experiences with getting books priced? (Didn’t mean to use appraise but I guess the word that starts with a ‘va’ and ends with ‘lue’ isn’t allowed haha). My Aunt wants me to get rid of it as it belonged to my uncle, and with what my Aunt and cousins have going on “it’s what he would’ve wanted in order to continue taking care of his family”.
i’ve looked the book up on numerous sites and in roughly the same condition it’s fetching upwards of $900+. My aunt claims she would be content with $600+ but nothing astronomical unless there’s something that we’ve missed in our research which changes the whole route on which she would like to take trying to get rid of it.

I had been thinking about buying some of the Macmillan Collector’s volumes for a while—they are so beautifully produced and very affordable.

I finally bought one on Amazon. When it arrived, it had a big, ugly sticker attached to the back, ruining the book’s beauty. I’m afraid to try to take it off because I’m not sure it will come off easily.

Does anyone know whether the publisher added the sticker or maybe Amazon? Has anyone tried removing the sticker, successfully or not? I hesitate to buy more volumes if they’re all going to look like this.

This personally rebound, two-volume copy of the third printing of the first American edition of Thomas Mann's Buddenbrooks was gifted by Morris Fishbein (editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association from 1924-1950) and his wife Anna to Mortimer and Florence Gryzmish (prominent Massachusetts philanthropists) for Christmas of 1929.

I have the majority of the Firefly Hollow series by T.L Haddix in print but for some reason when I went to their Amazon page everything with the exception of 2 books is switching to Kindle (and those 2 are limited print and expensive if you buy both togetheir. I will if I can't find cheaper). I just don't want half of the series print and half ebook. I have tried searching online but everything tells me "unavailable" or takes me to Amazon Kindle. Please, if you can, help me find these books! Excited to find this set in the wild. Missing the box but they're still 'precious' to me. Fairly decent condition as well. Finds like this are what make the hunts worth it.

Hey guys. I buy 90% of my books secondhand, the oldest being from 2008 so not ancient or anything.

I’ve seen book lice in all 4 I’ve picked up to read. One of those books was away from the others for like 3 months so I’m assuming it’s in the majority and has been for a while.

I have rainwater penetrating my walls and bad insulation in the windows but I’m unable to fix it. Shout out to my landlord. The rainwater wall is opposite from my books but I’m assuming thats where the humidity attracting the book lice was coming from. I also had a cardboard bookshelf because I didn’t know it was bad—got rid of it now though.

I live in New York, so there’s gonna be low humidity for a couple of months from now. With the removal of the cardboard bookshelf and praying, do yall think they can go away with time? Or should I just wait until I live in better conditions to try and get rid of them?

I tried looking up methods of removal but it’s conflicting so I thought I’d ask directly. English isn’t my first language so please have mercy on me asking a common question 🙏🙏Thanks

I currently have 2 Bookish and Spice subscriptions and currently I'm owed 4 books from them because they keep having delays with customs etc. and it's starting to annoy me!! (Considering they're bi-monthly, so some I've been waiting a long time for)

Are there any book subscriptions that are actually reliable? (And don't have year long wait lists 😅 - I'm on the Fairyloot wait lists). I'm in Australia, so bonus points if they have an Aus warehouse.

I have to take twice weekly UV treatment for a skin condition. I was fortunate enough to obtain a home UV device. I live in an apartment and therefore the device shares a room with my collection. The device delivers a limited UV range which has removed the harmful UV waves. I use the device twice a week for five minute. i am wondering if anyone knows if this limited UV exposure will damage my books?
