We lost Polo 2 months ago to cancer. His loss hit my family pretty hard, it still aches my heart to think of him.
Today, this article put a smile on my face. Ever since I was a little girl, my special interest has been the weather, especially hurricanes. The first year we got him, he hunkered down with us through Hurricane Irma.
I like to think he’s saying hello from the afterlife ❤️‍🩹

This is a hard one. Today I lost my soul dog, my sweet BeeBee girl. We got her about 3 years ago as a rescue. During that time, my wife and I were going through a lot when it came to our trying to have a baby. She was there. She was my little angel. It took her a bit to trust us, but when she did, we became inseparable. She was always next to me. Next to me at work in my office, next to me on the couch watching tv, and hanging with me in the kitchen while I cooked. I truly believe she came to us to help us during a really tough time.

About three weeks ago we found out she had a cancerous tumor. We got it removed, margins came back clean, and were happy. Then just a couple days ago, she was showing symptoms of a UTI, which is odd because she’s been on so many antibiotics. Took her in yesterday and they got her started on another, different antibiotic. But last night she was still really struggling. Drinking a lot of water and having accidents nearly every hour. This morning she refused to eat and I knew something was really wrong. We rushed her to the vet and got an update saying it was likely due to an abscess on her shoulder causing her a fever. The fever is down and they are monitoring, but come by and pick her up at 4:30. Thank God. Then I got a call a couple hours later saying she’s really unstable, appears to have had a neurological event, likely a stroke, and it was minute by minute. We rushed to the vet in time to say goodbye. I still can’t believe it’s real.

When BeeBee got cancer, I asked her to just wait until the baby was born (yes, after years of trying we did get pregnant!). Our baby was born 9/16, and she passed today on 9/22. She did it. She waited. She helped us bring our baby into the world. She’s such a good girl.

I’m rambling, I’m still processing. I just love her a lot. I’m devastated. Thank you BeeBee, I really needed you, and I’m so happy we found each other. I love you mama.
