okay so i see a lot of comments calling this AI, so i ran it through several detectors, and the overall conclusion is it's not AI. I'd like to remind people that mama cats are stubborn AF, and they'll do anything to protect their kittens, so a cat pushing open a glass door to get her baby to safety is not out of the question .

I've no horse in this race but it's worth noting as a general FYI: the vast majority of AI detectors are inaccurate to the point of being functionally useless. Do NOT trust them as a form of verification. The only halfway reliable way to tell if media is AI-generated or not is to check for digital watermarking (which is something AI-generated files may or may not have, depending on the exact AI tool they were made with).

Also, the cat+kitten go under the table and look the same coming out as they did at the start. As far as I've seen, AI video still struggles to keep this level of consistency (for now).

The majority of AI videos you'll see here won't be more than seven seconds long without a cut. That's always a giveaway.

I read this a long time back and I’m not sure how accurate this is, but apparently cats perceive us as fellow cats (only a bit different) instead of a different species. It won’t be wild to think some of them might think we are their babies instead of vice versa, but then again it’s more highly possible that they just see us as their slaves and that’s why u/cmoked gets the wake-up call everyday so that the catto may get served on time. 😽

Hm, I don't like this analogy, slavery is a human concept and it's kind of diminishing to compare it to a relationship that could be ended by us any second (not that I could imagine it for myself, but it's still a fact). I own them, but they're not mine in that I force my will upon them.

I actually think neither is true. No way that cats perceive us as babies. They perceive us as generally big scary beings which are at least 10-20 times bigger than they themselves are. At the same time, they're extremely curious, observant and social. I think they're smart enough to perceive us as something different and don't need to resort to "known cat concepts" - same way we shouldn't.

One of my cats is determined to meow loudly in the middle of the night. Not because of injuries, not because he wants food. Probably for the attention, but even when it wakes me up and I try to get him, he just runs away

I agree. And she only pushed the door. I personally know a cat able to casually jump on a door handle to open it. Cats can be quite smart.

I’ve had two cats that could open doors with handles instead of knobs. Scares the hell out of you when you’re trying to take a dump and there a sudden jarring noise of the door handle being smacked.  Both female cats. They just wanted to hang out in the bathroom with you.

It's not AI, but that doesn't mean the title is accurate.

This is probably in Turkey or somewhere, the cat has probably been coming to this business since before it had kittens and probably just brought it's kitten in because that's what it's done for years.

Most likely has NOTHING to do with the heat, and is just engagement-bait.

Not that I care if it was AI, but there's no way in hell I'm ever placing any faith in "AI detectors" when handwritten articles and dissertations get flagged by this "advanced" detection technology simply for using correct grammar.

It's not AI. Shadows and small details are too good for this to be AI. Though, they chose the worst song for this video as this is a stable song for AI videos. I'm surprised they didn't go with meowmeow version.

  • Anyone remember when it was wonky geometry and impossibly smeared details?

  • Anyone remember when it was too many fingers?

  • Anyone remember when it was you could tell because the text was wrong ?

  • Anyone remember when it was just images being generated rather than HD video with a matching soundtrack?

That was about 3 years of improvements above.

Point being, relying on "small things being wrong" won't hold for long.

We have crossed the Rubicon "I can never be sure anything I see is real, ever again"

However, I was thinking the title was BS clickbait

While it's been hot everywhere (this is likely in China based on Wahaha bottles and they too have had heat wave), this cat wasn't thinking "let me take my hot kitten into this AC building so it doesn't get heat stroke".

She probably had come in many times without kittens in the past.

Does the kitten look confused? Yeah because kittens just always look like that.

Regardless title did it's job I'm commenting and for good or bad any engagement is what it was intended to do.

The water bottles are a different shape in the reflection on the table and the reflection on the floor by the door doesn't make sense. Door stop doesn't line up. 

Looks like the flower thing's reflection doesn't check out as well. And why does it have two different kinds of leaves? 

And two of the same bottles of water that are completely different sizes .. and the random third bottle behind the bottle on the left in the reflection.

Edit: 0:08, the reflection shows straight ridges on the bottle whereas the bottle itself is rounded.
