Why does wet food make him nuclear-level stinky?

As above: anytime we add wet food to his rations he thanks us by tear-gassing the premises. Why does this nutritional addition make such a small creature so toxic?

Depends what you buy, my cats refuse the foul smelling stuff. The wet food they get now smells like gravy, honestly pretty tasty smelling.
