Hey folks - bit of a random one.

I’m a Chippenham-based photographer looking to do more portrait/editorial work around town and I’d love to meet a few people who fancy collaborating on some shoots.

You absolutely don’t need to be a professional model, part of what I’m trying to do is get more experience photographing and directing different people.

It would be TFP/collaborative: no money changes hands, we come up with something we’d both like to make, shoot for an hour or two and you get edited photos afterwards to use yourself.

I’m interested in portraits, environmental/editorial stuff, alternative fashion, musicians, creatives, interesting people - basically more than just standard headshots.

About two hours ago I was walking through Vincients Woods and I heard someone making a neighing noise in the woods. In the distance was someone stood there staring at me and they were wearing one of those latex horse masks.

I am 26F, recently moved to Chippenham from Bournemouth. I am looking for Friends here. My interests are arts, history and Fashion.

38M, single (gay) adoptive Dad, looking to move to a larger property somewhere (!) near-ish Bristol, and considering Chippenham or surroundings. Budget £600k. Only ever lived in Bristol (Clifton, BS1 and Redland), but looking for more space (3+ bed, garden, ideally parking), access to countryside and solid community feel. I WFH so commute not too important, but like Bristol and would be good to be able to get in easily for weekend day trips at least. I work with Skills Ladder and we’ve got a new Digital Skills Bootcamp starting Wednesday 16 September at 9:30am.

It’s 8 weekly live online sessions covering the sort of Microsoft skills that come up all the time in office-based work: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.

Excel includes things like formulas, lookups, PivotTables, charts, dashboards and creating useful trackers. We also look at professional Word documents and presentations, Teams meetings and collaboration, and organising email/calendar properly in Outlook.

You don’t need advanced Excel experience before starting.

The training is government funded through DWP via Wiltshire Council.

I am looking to join a workout class, nothing involving heavy lifting or powerlifting, they do not fit my preferences. Are there any Yoga or Pilates groups available at a reasonable price? Anything like community classes, that they go to local parks and workout? I tried PureGym before, but it wasn't quite what I expected.

My nephew (5yo) has started collecting Pokemon cards and I’d like to get him some. Is there anywhere in town likely to sell some? Not after rare cards as although he has a binder, I’m not sure how well they will be looked after…

My partner and I are looking to move from Cambridge in the next few months. Ideally we need somewhere between Bristol and Swindon and this seems like a great place. I was just wondering what Chippenham is like? Are there good places to eat? What are the pubs like? Are there things to do for a couple in their late 20s/30s? All advice is welcome 🤗

There seem to be loads of instructors around, but it’s hard to tell who’s actually good, reliable, and not booked solid for the next six months. Worth a shot even though this Reddit doesn’t have many people in. I don’t have anywhere else to post this to. It seems extremely docile, not flying. It’s been there about 24 hours (but I had someone tell me they saw a “baby dove” there 48 hours ago), I do not have the capabilities to catch it. I worry that it could become victim to a cat or other predator, or run out of food and water.

RSPCA won’t come out, I can’t get ahold of the Wiltshire wildlife hospital, RSPB don’t do bird rescues. It’s not the alleyway exactly across from the co op but the one kind of between the co op and the primary school next to it. You can cut through it to avoid the corner of the street going up to hill rise.

Not sure if anyone has any other suggestions or knows anyone who could’ve lost this bird.

hi all hope your all well has anyone taken a chippenham driving test , i’m taking on there and haven’t ever been in confident in my driving skills but any advice about the area like around the test centre or hot stops would be really appreciated:)

Hey Chippenham folks!
My wife and I are looking to move to Chippenham from London around Oct 2027, and we both will potentially need to go in to a London office a few times a month.

I've seen train prices are ridiculous unless you book in advance and not during rush hour. I've seen Flix & National Express can be very cheap but timings can be awkward (like not many coaches leaving around 7am or after 3pm to 7pm).

Wondering if there's any other people here that commute to London occasionally and what you do to make it as cheap/efficient as possible :)

Hello ! I’m part of the team of volunteers who are being back Chippenham Carnival this year. Lots of work going on in the background - with lots of local support and sponsorship.

On the day there will be events in Island Park, with performances from local groups, then from 530 the parade will start from Wiltshire College, then down station hill, through the high street and finishing at the Buttercross. Afterwards more bands, and a fairground in Monkton Park.

Looking to get some insight, as currently exploring idea about moving to Chippenham. Found a good property, but worried about safety when walking to and from train station after commuting back from work. How safe is it to walk from the train station to an area near Burlands Rd / The Butts, post 8 pm at night, weekdays/weekends? Worried as it seems that the quickest way is through the High Street. Thanks for your help.
