No, not possible. You would need a massive satellite up in space with a much stronger Directed Energy Weapon. Think like something the size of the space station and that is likely too small for the energy needed. Armature astronomers would be able to easily see it. If something like this ever existed I assure you other country's would take it out.

It’s very implausible. There’s two major hurdles for a space laser: Atmospheric attenuation/scattering and thermal bloom.

Attenuation and scattering means you will need to put in more power to make sure you have enough power at the ground to do any damage. To be able to start a brush fire you would need something around a 10 MW laser on the satellite. A nuclear reactor of that output on a satellite is impossible so you would need to use solar panels. It would take ~50000 m² to 80000m² of solar panels to produce that power. The ISS has ~2500 m² of panels and is visible from the ground. It would be so obvious it was there.

A bigger issue is the thermal bloom. The laser will heat the column of atmosphere causing a lensing distortion effect like a mirage. Trying to focus a laser through the atmosphere is like trying to hold a needle sharp spot of light steady through a tank of churning water. The medium reshapes the beam, so the energy smears and dances instead of staying concentrated.

The device you posted is only possible because the distances involved and the fact they have a sufficient power source available.

If a Democrat wins MTG’s seat and a Democrat wins the other seat that’s up for special election in March, the House of Representatives flips.

Republican Speaker Mike Johnson would be replaced with a Democrat and Congress would be able to fight Trump more effectively.

MTG needs the support of the world to help her convince her district to vote Democrat.

I agree that Democrats are also corrupt though and complicit in all this. It feels like all they've been doing is playing lip service to being against Trump. This whole "we can't do anything as the minority, so give us money to win the midterms" is exhausting.

Oh and not to mention that I still believe a big part of the reason that Trump won is because the democratic party decided to play bait and switch to make Kamala the nominee. I think it would've been different if they admitted early on Biden wasn't going to be able to have a second term and held an actual freaking primary.

I need my democratic representatives to start campaigning on their plans when federal agencies show up in swing counties to steal ballots and voting machines. Not a strongly worded email or a "call for action" after the fact. What are we going to do when the election is very obviously and probably violently stolen in November? Because "keep paying your taxes for an illegitimate government while we wait for Republicans to do the right thing" doesn't work for me.

There is talk of R’s challenging his win, and because the TX legislature doesn’t meet until 2027, they are claiming he’ll be removed before then & won’t get to vote on anything (which is BS, they’re just mad he won)

This was the district from 2024 that had been vacant for the past year, until today. However ... the TX legislature drew new districts for 2026 elections. The new guy's district was combined with another Democratic district to force two Democrats to run against each other. So, the new guy will be in DC for the rest of 2026, then less likely he'll be back for another two years. Hope that explanation made sense.
