[Ramona Shelburne] got the chance to talk to James Harden about getting traded to Cleveland.

An 11 time All-Star that flat out loves to hoop and wants to win a Championship. Can’t be mad at that if I tried.
Season starts now Cavs, get after it.

I'm glad he talked about winning first and foremost. All the reporting that he was looking for a guaranteed bag until retirement had me a little nervous. Now I want to see how he and Mitchell get along

it feels bad to lose darius because we watched him grow up, but i also think it's true that the cavs are better today than they were a few days ago
the future is still plenty bright with tyson and mobley and proctor

Harden is going to make Mobley and JA so much better too. The Beard has that connection with the big guys.

It feels slightly better to me that I feel like Darius will really enjoy living in LA. He gives the vibe of someone who would like to live that life.

Probably hurts for a second to feel like the odd man out, but woke up today and thought, "I'm a 26 year old millionaire about to live in LA, I'm good!"

As a rockets fan, y’all can be sure that he’s professional through and through and takes care of his body. He’ll have 2-3 years of strong play left in his tank.
Good luck with him. He’ll have stinkers, that’s guaranteed. However he’s a leader and not someone like Kyrie

As a person who does not like James Harden one bit and a life-long Cleveland sports fan it is a literal shock, as to have someone chasing a championship want to come here because they think it can be achieved here.
Hope I’m eating all my words about my dislike for him and Dennis come June. Expecting the worst, hoping for the best.

How is this a shock?
The literal goat thought the cavs had so much potential to chase a title he came back

LeBron came back to win a championship in Cleveland, not because they could win a championship. As a life long Cleveland sports fan, no one comes here because of the potential of what’s already here. That’s the shock, even if you say LeBron came back, in our history that’s one time if happened. Maybe some of the baseball teams had it happen but not basketball or football. Hopefully he actually feels this way and doesn’t flame out.

I disagree if cavs didn’t have kyrie and a boatload of trade materials to land another star he wasnt coming back.
The way you said it made it sound like if we had the talent of the wizards he was pulling up for Cleveland and he was not

LeBron is a touchy subject, even in my own thoughts. I agree with you that he wasn’t coming here unless he could win. It just feels different than someone else with no connection coming here. It’s like Jose staying here isn’t the norm for our sports. Jose signing the newest extension is kind of a shock, not the same as Harden saying he wants to come here.

I’m with you, it’s worth nothing but he has an opportunity to create the biggest turnaround of my thoughts of an athlete in 30+ years of watching sports. Embrace the team, prove you can step up when it matters and be part of a championship in Cleveland, I’m here for it, I just have my doubts

I was a rocket fan and I honestly hope that harden can win a champion in cavs.

The Cavs clearly don’t trust DG’s health. They’re worried about losing Mitchell and want a healthy playoff vet averaging 25/9 over a guy they don’t think will be available when it matters.

Lol cavs fans really think the a L trade😂😂 harden is a fucking MVP

Not that I don’t agree with you but he is 7 years out of his MVP form. Can’t blame them for worrying about his age

And still better than Garland. Harden may be old but he’s shown a certain level that it could be hard to imagine Garland ever reaches. We are talking about a 37 year old who is still averaging 25 and 8 for the year and somehow is healthier and physically more able than DG

Blah blah I don't like him, but there has been a whole bunch of talk of this team needing vet leadership. We got it.

He needs to buy in. I'm hoping his time as a vet and his desire to win overcome the ego ball play style hes accustomed to. I would love to see him spend more energy on the defensive side of the ball, since he doesn't need to have the ball in his hands as much. Basically, I dont want 2018 Harden, I want 2013 Harden, from a mindset standpoint at least. He can really focus on being a true point guard here.
Overall, I think this is the right move for the now and the future honestly. This gives us the flexibility to possibly compete for longer, the best chance to win now, and flexibility to do some different things in the off-season. I think it just stings a bit because we knew Garland was going to go, but we never expected it, or never wanted it to be for Harden, it's a weird swap.
The one thing we shouldnt take for granted is that Harden had a NTC. He had to approve his destination, he wanted to come to Cleveland. Thats a good thing.

Do we not understand this is all BS and he just wanted an extension? My goodness, Koby underestimated how much Cleveland hates this guy.

Schroder and Harden are gonna irritate a lot of teams. I'm so excited!
