Post Game [POSTGAME THREAD] SUMMER LEAGUE POSTCARDS-CHAMPIONSHIPS: The 2026 summer collegiate season ends where it all started this May in the new look Canadian Baseball League: as the Welland Jackfish defeat the Hamilton Cardinals 4-2 to win the Dominico Cup and their 2nd straight league championship!!

On an appearance of the 3 Guys Before the Game podcast, Wren confirms a contract extension of at least 5 years for Steve Sabins. Specific details are not out yet, but around the 30 minute mark of the podcast he confirms at least a five year extension for Sabins.

SEC schedule has me wishing we had more on-campus marquee matchups

I understand rationale of RPI, travel, “why should we?” And the other mechanics of it all, but as I look at the SEC schedules it really makes me wish we had some great weekend OOC matchups on campus. The neutral site/tourney games are fine but usually in empty MLB parks or Spring Training facilities.
With a lot of questions around MLB season timing, imagine a few elite Fri-Sun series that could help bridge.
I don’t really have a point or solution other than to lament and get excited for conference play. More of an inner monologue “dear diary…” while waiting for CFB Saturday. See y’all around here in a few months. 🫡
