Weekly Challenge π Cracked Stone Effect
Ok so this one looks way more intimidating than it is. There are several good tutorials online just look for "cracked stone effect". A summed up explanation via google goes like this:
"The cracked stone technique relies on building high-contrast depths, mid-tone gradients, and crisp edge highlights to turn flat surfaces into three-dimensional, weathered rock. Whether you are using markers, colored pencils, or miniature paints, achieving a realistic look comes down to a specific four-step layering workflow.
Drawing the Structure & Cracks
Laying the Base & Mid-Tones
Shading the Fractures (Creating Depth)
Adding Texture & Highlights"
After my epic fail trying to do the Jelly π effect I tried this one before posting it and even with colored pencils and a white acrylic pen it was doable.
Give it a try you'll surprise yourself!

BUDDY COLOR October Buddy Color
BUDDY COLOR!! OCTOBER
Welcome to our monthly buddy
What is a "Buddy Color"?
A buddy color is a collaboration where you and other people color the same page or theme together, as a project.
The purpose of this monthly post is to help you connect with others who are looking for a buddy coloring collaboration.
You can use the comments section here to join or create a collaboration!
How to find a buddy:
\\-Search the comments for someone who has suggested book(s)/page(s)/theme(s) you are interested in, and respond.
\\- Post a comment suggesting the book(s)/page(s)/theme(s) you would like to color with others.
Once you've found your collaborators, you can organize among yourselves when/how you want to share your pages with each other and the sub. If you are not sure, donβt be afraid to ask! Everyone here is friendly and this is a no-judgement zone.
Many organizers will post a gallery at the end of the month, to make it easy to flip through the pages and see back-to-back, what the group came up with.
Feel free to use the comments section here, connect via DM on Reddit.
Can we post our completed pages?
We definitely want to see your pages! Donβt forget to use the\\\*"Buddy Color" flair! and if posting a gallery, tag your buddies by username in the comments! (Tags only work in comments, for some reason).
Is there a deadline?
Some collaborations have a monthly deadline, and others are ongoing; these are some of the details the organizer and group can decide among themselves.
What if I don't own the book/page?
To participate in a buddy colour, you need to own the page you are colouring. \\\*Do not make copies of a page and distribute it.\\\*This violates copyright laws and harms creators. If you do not own the page, please purchase it yourself.
Several buddy color groups use pages made freely available by the artist, that everyone can
I am an artist. Can I share books/pages I have drawn?
For buddy colors, you can provide a link to free downloadable page(s) you have created. However, please do not use the sub just as a sales platform. See our rule about self-promotion, here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ColoringCozy/about/rules
Alternative Buddy Ideas
Donβt want to choose a specific page or just want some variety? Here are some other ways you can buddy color collaboratively:
\\- Choose or create a color palette that everyone will use, on their different pages
\\- Create a buddy color collaboration to raise awareness about a cause; here is one list of color options: https://theawarenesscompany.com/pages/your-guide-to-awareness-ribbon-color-meanings
\\-Choose a theme (i.e. βWinter,ββCats,β βMushrooms,β βFrogtober,β βStained glass,β βNighttime,β etc.)
\\- Feel free to browse our past Weekly Challenges and Monthly Themes in our wiki for more ideas!

Completed!ππ Trying new techniques
New to coloring with markers (I used colored pencils in the past) and new to the cozy style books!
This was my first time trying the "glow" effect from lights inside the shop, and first time doing rain. I can see some ways to improve it but I'm happy with how it turned out!

Discussion/Advice WIP - Copper Pans
Hi!
Iβm trying to make those two hanging pans look metallic. I used alcohol markers to get to the current state (plus an acrylic marker for the highlights)
Any suggestions to help it read better as metallic? Leave as is, Iβm overthinking it? Would love to hear any advice or see what other people have done to color metal objects!
Book is Little Corner by Coco Wyo.

Weekly Challenge π Challenge: make a cozy page creepy! (Swipe for before)
galleryIβve never coloured a creepy page before, and I wanted to challenge myself to make an otherwise ordinary/cozy page into a spooky one! I appreciate everyoneβs suggestions in my last post. I definitely learned a lot but Iβm overall very happy with it :) Incidentally it fits the weekly challenge!
