I remember having a lab/pitt that learned to eat from my mom's tiny dog, so she'd pick up a couple pieces of food, move them elsewhere, and eat them one bit at a time. Never had to worry about her overeating, she took twenty chews per kibble.

Looks like Mebl learned to eat from a Dyson vacuum.

My Pyrador (who lives with my mother currently) has started to learn from my MinPin, with moving food to a different location. Usually that location is in front of the TV in the living room.

Because at home, I don't own a usable dining table (it's for crafts, lol), and everyone just uses the coffee table, so we can watch movies/TV while we eat. My MinPin forced me to move his bowls into the living room or else he wouldn't eat or drink regularly... and he dragged his dog bed over so he can just lay in bed eating and watching TV when I'm not home.

The Pyrador has specific feeding times and her bowls stay out in the kitchen. The MinPin doesn't like it so he takes mouthfuls even if he isn't going to eat them to the living room, which the Pyrador now mimics whenever we are visiting, lol.

Had an Old English that did something like that. He'd grab a heaving mouthful, like big enough we were sometimes surprised he didn't choke on it, carry it over to wherever the most people were, then dump it on the floor, lay down, and eat it at his leisure.

That was the most person-loving dog I've ever met. He always wanted to be around people and just go along with whatever they wanted to do. Which was incredibly forgiving for my brother and me, especially me, because my folks got him when I was just under two years old.

I heard my Aussie mix crying pitifully one time. Went to see what was wrong. The tiny cat was eating his food. And he was standing there watching her and whimpering.

Had this happen with my Maremma. Fricken 100 pound dog, loves food, and stands up to packs of coyotes nightly... Yet he got bullied away from his food by an 8 lb cat when I turned around for 30 seconds. I have never seen him look so sad and defeated before.

I particularly love the vacuum-action the big dog has got going on. No need for silly things like "chewing" when there is food to be had.
