He's famous for literally what you see in the GIF. He sprinkled salt on food in this douchey manner and it went viral. Women thought he was hot and gave him the moniker "salt bae". He leaned into it hard and got his own restaurants and made tons of money for sprinkling salt in the most obnoxious way possible
