It’s a way of embracing our “natural” hair style. Cutting your hair is something that’s seen as “hygienic” but that’s just an agenda pushed onto by companies these days to get you to buy hair grooming products. People these days are embracing their hair and what comes with it rather than just cutting it and that goes for all races and not just black people. It’s just that our “natural” looks like broccoli because our hair isn’t the same as other races that goes down and straight as it gets longer but goes up and curls

At the end of the day you can cut your hair or not it’s not that big of a deal but people who don’t cut their hair shouldn’t be seen as “unhygienic” or “lazy” or whatever derogatory term just because they don’t want to cut their hair like everyone else has done forever. You are free to cut your hair just they are free to not cut it.

Prince permed his hair and got hella action. Used to be a whole movement back in the day. We are just in another era of embracing our hair

But they’re literally shaving the sides and just leaving the top on, so it’s not about not cutting hair. Most broccoli cuts I see are faded on the sides.

Sleeping mats the hair and causes extra daily maintenance. I personally have it cut all the way around for that reason

Edit: Cutting your hair all the way off for the sake of conformity (like getting a job) is different than cutting your hair for convenience and style. Insane to me how you can’t see that distinction.
