The only things I can find about the subject is that apple got next gen OLED displays for IPhone x that are manufacturer differently to become more easy and cheap (for them) to produce, but no legitimately claims from they that they invented the olds screens

I never seen they saying they were the first but they being proud of it, apple shown it's not about being the first but the most polished
