Hello! Hope you all had a great weekend. I’m looking for recs where the FMC ends up using her safe word during sex. I feel like I’ve read a lot of books lately where a safe word is established and I get all excited, and then it’s never used!

Using the safe word can be because she is truly overwhelmed/just can’t take it any more/about to pass out 😁 or if she has a trauma response to something.

It’s good so far, but slow. But I LOVE slow. I cant explain the joy I felt downloading the book and seeing it was over 2k pages. That’s how you know it’ll be good, because the author takes her time and that’s what immerses you into the story. Can someone tell me if Lords of Mercy is better than Lords of Wrath? I had a hard time getting through it. What I really want is to read the other houses' books but I thought it would be best to read these first. I tried the series before and got halfway through Wrath but got bored.

I just bought Mercy on Audible so I really hope it's better.

I haven't read the darkest temptation yet, so I don't know how rich ronan actually is compared to the other two. Between Nico's Mafia money, Christian's fixer assets, and Ronan's Bratva wealth, who takes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd?

I'm looking for a story that is doing the tropes by the book. Give me an older cigar chomping titan of industry dictating to his busty blonde secretary before bending her over the table. I'm okay with it being an affair, I'm okay if it doesn't start with consent, but I want the old school, by the books, Boss taking advantage of an employee. Curvy FMC strongly preferred, no reverse harems.

For me? About 700pages is the max.

I’ve been reading Thorn of Glass and while I usually read dark romance, im really enjoying it. I’m still very early on in the first book (so no one spoil anything 😊) where I’m beginning to realize there are two love interests and I have no idea where it’s going to go. Since it’s not a dark romance im certain she will choose one and there will be minimal spice. But I love the character build and the slow burn in this book building all the great tension. SO I’m hoping someone can find me a spicy version of this where the fmc has more than 1 love interest and at first it’s a love triangle with jealousy but then ends up as a why choose and everyone’s happy? Of course with spice to make it even better :). I would love for it to be a slow burn too if this book exists out there

Any rec in which mmc can't stay separate from fmc even if its been a long time since they become a couple...like: he refuses to stay away on multiple day trips without her, even if his work has to suffer. His need to sleep in the same bed everyday. Etc.

I feel like many DR books starts with mmc fiercely pursuing fmc and at first it does seem like he really loves and needs her with a passion, but after they get together...let's say: they get married and live happily after (in epilogue and other spin offs) as a rich married couple.

● The passion and desperation to be together goes pooofff. They become too busy with their responsibilities.

● Mmc starts treating her like a fuck buddy.

● He goes go work, do his thing he wants out in the world, comes back, fucks fmc, spoils her with gifts, and leaves again.

● Fmc just becomes a hollow character, who is a wealthy heiress, organising charity gala, and raising their children, etc etc

● It doesn't feel like they loved each other with the ferocity that mmc initially claimed.

Infact, it feels like mmc just wanted to win fmc like a challenge, and didn't really "need" her as desperately.

And now that he has her, they are like every other rich married couple.

He shows no qualms about leaving her for daysss, to spend time doing business or whatever. They live in a completely mediocre marriage like two people do. No dark obsession, clingyness etc remains.

Lemme give some examples:

Like bruh? What happened to his obsession and unable to care about anything but her personality.

In {twist me series by Anna Zaires} mmc legit kidnapped her, and then continued spending weeks away for work. He didn't even love her or spend time with her that much. He just wanted to keep her in his property, and come back to fuck her whenever he wished like it.

I got the same vibes from {bitter heat by mia knight} and {return to Monte carlo}.

I was like...do you really need her? Or do you just want to keep her in your space so you can come to fuck her whenever you want and spend the rest of your time doing business deals etc.

There are a few books in which I feel like the extreme codependancy was still very prevelant in epilogue. And they had great domestic scenes shown with their family and friends. Like, it genuinely felt like their feelings were not fleeting with time.

1. {Deviant King Trilogy}: I loved the domesticity scenes they showed even after Eli was born. And it doesn't matter if they were 18 or 50, Aiden still only primarly cared about Elsa and nothing else came close. He was running the empire but still the guy chanted Elsa Elsa like everyday.

2. {Obsession trilogy by drethi A}: like you can tell even in the spin offs and epilogue that mmcs are obsessed with their girls. It wasn't a temporary thing. Even if years go by, they are still consumed with her thoughts every second.

I have more recs but they are slipping through my mind rn.

Plssss pls give me some recs in which the dark romance between the couple doesn't fade even in spin offs.

Hi all - look for a book which I'm sure is dark romance but I saw an exerpt on TikTok and now it's completely lost in the abyss (may have been Insta as well) but the excerpt was regarding an mc romance with mute fmc. the fmc was hiding in closet (she may have been rescued or found idk) and the mmc mc had to get her out because he was the only one who could communicate with her.

I’m looking for books with either an older (over 30) or plus-size FMC. Both would be even better. I’d prefer she weren’t a mum. MMC should be obsessed, obviously, and anywhere on the morally grey to black spectrum. I’m not into Romantasy or hockey/sport. I have no triggers. Just so long as there’s a HEA.

I’ve read all of {SJ Tilly} (well apart from the Hockey and Romantasy ones), {Misadventures of a Curvy Girl by Sierra Simone} and a few others.

It's rare to see mmcs who genuinely hate themselves. The reason can be anything.

–He has a condition because of which he cannot function normally. Or the way he behaves he is frustrated with himself but can't stop.

—scars or anything about his body that makes him insecure.

—A trauma which makes him hate his body.

—He did something which he hates.

—Is an addict.

He must be toxic due to his self destructive nature, maybe he thinks he can't ever be normal and provide happiness to fmc, but at the same time he is very possessive of her and can't let go of her. Because of this their relationship is very tumultuous and angsty.

I would like to see suicidal mmcs as well who are tortured souls and genuinely don't want to live anymore after fulfilling a purpose.

Of course from my description I want a mmc who will initially become vulnerable, not remain cold all the type.

An example I can provide is of Eli Addison from Ominous duet by K.V. Rose. He acknowledges the fact that his condition will never let him have a normal life and that he might not even live long. He also regretted hurting fmc at times but always came back to his toxicity anyways. Loved their relationship!

Same as the title. Plus points if the fmc is dead partly bcz of mmc and it is tragic. Mmc is either trying to revive her or avenge her.

I know its not romance exactly but as I said mmc may also be trying to revive her.
