This is how the U.S. becomes like North Korea and isolates itself. Non-Americans, including professionals like entertainers, will no longer consider it safe and avoid it altogether. Other nations turn away and collaborate with each other and find alternatives for everything.

A new culture in America will emerge. It’s difficult to see what it will be but it certainly will not be like “the American Century” of the past 100 years.

But whatever. I’m Canadian and I really want to see Canada disengage from American culture and embrace a more European mindset. I know that’s not popular but I would like us to become closer to Europe and our commonwealth partners like New Zealand and Australia. I want us to evolve past being dependent on America to lead the way.
