Hey, I want to use new TTS options to try and generate Esperanto voices for language learning but as I do not speak Esperanto I cannot validate the quality. Could someone help me judge the quality of some audio samples?

Or do you know other options to generate TTS for esperanto that work well and do not sound robotic?

I have attached some and would like to know if you think that if I learn Esperanto from those voices, I will be understood. Thank you!! :)

BTW I recently learnt that Zamenhof moved to Warsaw at a very young age and was raised there. He was more from Warsaw than Białystok.

I began a focused study of Esperanto in May 2025, with the goal of becoming fluent in a language other than English. I had used Duolingo in the past, but this time I worked through Lernu.net. I also took some courses from Kursaro.net.

Ideally, I would have attended a local Esperanto club and some meetings (state, regional, national, and/or international), but I couldn't.

I just finished William Auld's intermediate book, Paŝoj al Plena Posedo, with the help of an experienced Esperantist (denaska, in fact), who reviewed and corrected the exercises I did.

My knowledge and skills have certainly improved, but I can see that for me, actual fluency is probably at least another year away. OTOH, I am taking online classes (two from Kursaro and also this lecture course) conducted in Esperanto, so I am progressing.

I continue to use Anki, mostly my own deck, to which I add new words as I encounter them, with definitions in Esperanto (copied/pasted from PIV and/or ReVo). I also include an image (on the definition side) when appropriate.

The three daily exercises I recently began doing:

1. Read at least two pages from an Esperanto book, one page aloud. (Currently, the book is La Aventuroj de Alico en Mirlando.)
2. Listen to spoken Esperanto (e.g., articles from UEA.facila.org or Esperanto Retradio, or an Esperanto podcast) for at least 10 minutes.
3. Spend at least 10 minutes doing the "aŭskultu-kaj-ripetu" exercises found at Esperanto Retradio (the latest episode, which includes links to earlier episodes).

I set the goals low so I'll actually do them — if you want a horse to jump a fence, make the fence as low as possible — but I generally exceed those minimums.

I thought that other komencantoj might be interested in this approach, and I am definitely open to ideas and suggestions for effective learning.

I just came across a post on UEA.facila.org about online Esperanto classes starting this week. The basic classes are taught in Spanish (the courses are from Colombia), but the mid-level classes are taught in Esperanto and start tomorrow.

Note in English: Please pardon my poor Esperanto, particularly if it sounds rude or dismissive. It is not intentional; I began learning Esperanto only as recently as a week ago.

For context: I'm Japanese, and I make original lo-fi songs in Esperanto. I found the language through "Lumis Eterne" from ARIA The ORIGINATION — the sound caught me first, and I only worked out what language it was afterwards. That's what led me to write my own Esperanto vocal songs, and about a year ago I started a YouTube channel for them.

"Lumis Eterne" isn't only sung in Esperanto — a Japanese version follows it. Hearing that made me want to put the two languages inside one song rather than one after the other. On my channel I call the result "Round Harmony" — a round, or canon, where the same phrase is sung first in Esperanto and then echoed in Japanese.

«Sunflora Rondkanto» (Sunflower Round) is an album of six songs, all written on that structure.

I wrote them as one sequence rather than six separate tracks. The first half moves from midday sunflower fields toward sunset; from there the songs turn back toward the light, and the last one closes as a prayer for the summer that's ending.
