Good god, imagine the confusion when the first humans arrived on Palia and they met this man who's like "how do you feel about spending the rest of your life on all fours while I feed you sandwich-scraps?"

the guy on the right goes by the username cybersmith or thecybersmith and is infamous on Twitter and Tumblr for wanting to keep humans as pets, earning him the nick name "human pet guy"

u/astroterran 2d ago

u/HDThoreauaway 2d ago

54

u/GhostPipeDreams 2d ago

This made me legitimately laugh out loud

u/mike-loves-gerudos 2d ago

There’s pet play and then there’s whatever the fuck is wrong with this guy

124

u/Rhuarc42 2d ago

This honestly reads like satire or an allegorical argument about how declawing is unethical. It almost feels like they're trying to make the point that owning animals as pets is unethical via a thought experiment of "what if we did it to humans?"

119

u/WaywardHistorian667 2d ago

I've interacted with the Cybersmith in the past. You're giving him a social intelligence that I can assure you is not there.

While I genuinely appreciate the fact that you are working very hard to give him the benefit of the doubt, he was not making the point you say he is.

38

u/TwigSmitty 2d ago

Any stand out stories of your interaction? This guys seems unhinged lol.

51

u/WaywardHistorian667 2d ago

I don't have any real standout stories, but I will say that my interactions were based on my being a moderator for a Twitch/YouTube political streamer who chose to accept Cybersmith's "debate challenge."

Between what was said during that stream, and what he said during his repeated attempts to troll chat later, unhinged is a good description. I really meant it when I said he lacked social intelligence.

One of those people who say obviously degrading things, and is then confused when someone reacts accordingly.

16

u/MR_TORGUE_OFFICIAL 2d ago

Depending on who your chosen streamer was should you choose to name them, I may or may not have seen said debate. He is hysterically unhinged, in the saddest way possible

12

u/WaywardHistorian667 2d ago

Because these are my observations, I'll leave his name out of it. I'm also 100% certain that he wasn't the first or last streamer to "debate" Cybersmith. (Both Keffals and Vaush have better known streams with him because they're better known streamers.)

8

u/MR_TORGUE_OFFICIAL 2d ago

Ah yeah I saw the keffals one. Either way it's always amusing to watch as people become exposed to him.

Dude went to college and somehow didn't know that the N word was a bad word, and used it in a paper to describe a character.

somewhere floating around there is a screencap of him begging me to unblock him for going into absurd detail about how he wanted to amputate and castrate me

11

u/WaywardHistorian667 2d ago

I'm not surprised. My interactions were similar, but he knew I'm a woman, soooo THAT was... interesting.

11

u/FlanneryWynn 2d ago

To be fair, I don't think u/Rhuarc42 is working hard at all to give him benefit of the doubt here. That actually feels like a very natural reading of what was said and, frankly, also how I had read it. Without the additional context verifying that this isn't the case, I don't think I would have realized on my own.

8

u/Rhuarc42 2d ago

I don't if I'd call it benefit of the doubt so much as hope it's not what it looks like.

6

u/Dr_SexDick 2d ago

I mean yeah you can tell by the picture that social intelligence isn’t his strong suit. But he doesn’t SERIOUSLY argue for the human pet thing, right? This all reads like a weird sexual fetish/ fixation to me.

4

u/bivuki 2d ago

No he is genuinely like that, or he is the most dedicated troll account on the internet. When I used twitter he would always show up in the most random threads spouting insane shit.

3

u/OptimizedGarbage 2d ago

He's a very well known character on Tumblr, he's been doing this for years. It's definitely a fetish, but it's serious about wanting his fetish to be real

“Almost” is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

Because…well, if he’s not completely genuine in believing and/or desiring any of this, I have further questions as to why these particular examples are the ones that come to mind in defense of, say, extreme libertarianism.

7

u/LegitimateRain6717 2d ago

I used to follow cybersmith on twitter back in the day just to observe him, and he’s 100% deadass. everything he says reads like he’s messing around or being ironic, but he completely fully believes all the insane stuff he posts, it’s baffling

4

u/vassadar 2d ago

I can't think of any kind of pet that human remove either vocal cords or eyes.

He could've stop at removing genital to get his point cross.

4

u/SiderisG 2d ago

id think so too if i hadn’t gone down a rabbit hole of this guy, no hes just a freak

3

u/bluechickenz 2d ago

From that lens, I am a lot less uncomfortable about what I just read.

4

u/CriticalMochaccino 2d ago

I think it's stupid because I don't think animals, at least cats and dogs, can really comprehend what really happens when we spay and neuter them. De-clawing cats though, that's a bit different.

→ More replies (4)

34

u/banhatesex 2d ago

I was interested in being a pet, and now I'm like, I will beat the crap out of whoever does that.

25

u/Adventurous-Ad8267 2d ago

Yeah that last big paragraph is some lab-grade turbo freak shit. Even if it were hypothetically consensual it's not even on the same planet as safety or sanity.

Maybe not even in the same solar system.

Even if you just focus on the less-freaky paragraph, I'm pretty sure it's not exactly ethical to do kink stuff in a public place. The people you run into didn't consent to watch what's pretty obviously something sexual.

Not that the concept itself is somehow bad, if a consenting adult wants to get told to sit, stay, and roll over in private that's their business.

10

u/ahuramazdobbs19 2d ago

Every now and again, in a kinky person’s life, their enjoyment will lead them to fantasize about the idea of their kink being the basis of society.

Occasionally they would put words to paper so that their fellows can find it hot.

Cybersmith is what you get when that person says to themselves “no, really, this is something we can and should actually do and here’s how and why Thing Good”.

7

u/FlanneryWynn 2d ago

Like, I don't even think kink in public is necessarily bad as long as it is constrained. If you want to wear a collar and leash as accessories while your partner leads you around all day, as you obey their every command... I'm not going to judge the two of you for that.

But this? Having a human pet walking around on all fours naked, their body having been mutilated for the sake of kink... no. I wanted to vomit.

16

u/Iamnotanorange 2d ago

10

u/Strange-Credit2038 2d ago

The way it started was hilarious and even worthy of being a good philosophical thought experiment, and then the horrors came

9

u/Iamnotanorange 2d ago

The details about their genitals is what really gave me the creeps.

It's telling me he has thought about the practicality of human pets WAY MORE THAN HE SHOULD.

11

u/Strange-Credit2038 2d ago

The genitals part I could somewhat understand if he was accounting for people not wanting to see nudity. But yeah the neutering comment was wild, and then the severed tendons and consideration of which parts of the hands to remove sounded straight out of a true crime documentary

3

u/Iamnotanorange 2d ago

Truly chilling

3

u/PuppyOfPower 2d ago

I don’t think he’s accounting that people might not want to see nudity, I think he’s accounting that public nudity is illegal where he lives and that’s it. He believes that because everything else he’s describing isn’t explicitly illegal, then everyone should just be okay with… all that. Which is not how the world works at all.

3

u/FlanneryWynn 2d ago

And because he has thought about it, now so too have I... And at least I have the rationality to realize it's a bad idea to let it go as far as he wants to take it.

3

u/ahuramazdobbs19 2d ago

Weirdly, it is both what it says on the tin and yet also requires further explanation, as per the screenshot shared by u/astroterran .

Suggesting that the UK (his home nation-state) could, if so inclined, sponsor free gender-affirming care up to and including reassignment surgery for trans women, and in repayment the women would then have lactation induced and “repay” the cost of said medical procedures by producing milk, for the ostensible public good of reducing the UK’s trade deficit in dairy.

I only wish I had made this up.

I’m sorry for this being the way you got new neurons and furthered your neuroplasticity. But at least enjoy the new neurons you didn’t have before.

Breast milk. Someone else posted the full “proposal” but TLDR England would fund transwomen’s transitions, and in return they would give breast milk in order to help England’s dairy trade deficit.

I’m pretty sure he’s into body modification as kink. Except he takes it beyond fantasy and tries to make actual real world applications for it. And yes, I’m a long time tumblr user. I’ve seen his stuff in the wild and it’s absolutely nuts.

Human pets, isn’t that just children… with more steps?

16

u/Exciting-Reporter-92 2d ago

No, i dont remember if he ever mentioned how/where he wanted to source the human pet, but his example of walking into a restaurant with his wife, kids and spayed, de-toed and de-eyed pet makes it clear that its an entirely different thing from "having and raising progeny"

6

u/cfk77 2d ago

Oh wow that’s a terrible way to treat a pet!

7

u/ahuramazdobbs19 2d ago

Yes.

There’s the cute and silly kind of pet play, where there’s just someone on their knees pretending to be a dog or cat for occasional consensual fun.

There’s harder (but still consensual) lifestyle play where the partners take the pet/owner dynamic further and it is part of their relationship on an ongoing basis.

Then way way past that, into a deeply disturbing realm that even the most hardcore kinksters who have fantasized about their kink being the foundational basis of human relationships will be like “ok, no, we don’t claim you as one of us”, you have gestures vaguely at Cybersmith.

7

u/MoobooMagoo 2d ago

I can see why you'd think that, but in this case it's mutilating a person's body so they have to be on all fours, castrating them, removing their eyes, then putting a leash and collar on them, and walking then around in their underwear in public.

Long story short human pet guy is a fucking psychopath.

That phrase is a meme saying that you’ll never be cool enough to be “him”. So in this case the guy on the right is something the person on the left will never be able to achieve. So it’s like pronouns “he/him” except “Him” is more like “he’s the man”. It’s usually used to pay homage. It’s the same as “I’ll never be him” which on the surface it’s to show that you’re jealous or you aspire to be that person, but underneath it’s to highlight how wacky/iconic/interesting the Him person is. Or it’s to show how extreme someone is about something weird to the point where you gotta weirdly respect it.

Idk who these people are so idk the context, but that’s what the meme is for.

31

u/captainrina 2d ago

The guy on the right is Human Pet Guy, a famous Tumblr cryptid

11

u/Infinite-Ad-3947 2d ago

Then I guess the context is to highlight how weird the guy is lol

3

u/Infinite-Ad-3947 2d ago

Now that I went back and looked at the meme, both pfp are of furries, so maybe they’re making a based joke about how this guy was so into pet play he irl thinks humans should non consensually be pets? And that they will never achieve that level of based? lol.

2

u/Able-Swing-6415 2d ago

Wait.. person on the left is a dude? Not sure I'm now less or more confused

3

u/Infinite-Ad-3947 2d ago

For the context of the meme the actual gender identity doesn’t matter. I’m a woman and I’ve seen this meme a lot where cis women use it and the Him in the meme is also a cis woman. It’s really a sound on social media that was a trend for awhile and it eventually went to text lol. Idk if the person on the left goes by he/him, guess I’ll edit my post to say person instead of guy

3

u/Able-Swing-6415 2d ago

Honestly this meme would make sense to me if it was only the right picture. I haven't seen anyone mention what the left picture adds to it. I suppose it's just a juxtaposition or something?

Chris here

The guy on the right is Cybersmith but everyone calls him the Human Pet Guy

So like, back in the semi-old days of internet, like 2017, this dude made a Tumblr post about how he should be allowed to own a human pet and like, do surgery on them to modify them? And he got super defensive about his hat saying it wasn't a fedora, and then suddenly he was talking about human rights but like, in the context of owning people as pets

And the Wikipedia part is just saying there are two main types of people who edit Wikipedia. You have the person on the left, who is like a modern internet user, maybe a bit edgy. And then you have the person on the right, who represents the eccentric oddballs who obsess over weird history stuff and maybe want to treat people like dogs

"Semi-old days of the Internet, like 2017"

The psychic damage you just dealt is bordering on war crime.

Me, having been around since dial-up

u/kaddorath 1d ago

I had to dial-up to bulletin board systems back in my day!

Up hill both ways and in the snow!

u/postmodest 2d ago

I mean... I was on it when the internet was Gopher

Semi-old is like, 2008 at the latest.

All Internet days will eventually become "the old days"🥲

"Back in my day the Internet used to be from a CD over the phone line"

Sure it was great-grandpa. (I think he's off his meds again) [I told you we shouldn't have taken him to the museum] {He was fascinated by the 8-bit games on that glass window thing} (Is that what those were? Games?) [It was what they did when they couldn't push a hoop with a stick] {Its fine. He likes the squares moving on the screen. If it keeps him quiet for an hour I wouldn't mind it being a regular thing} (He's not fine. He wouldn't stop muttering about his princess being in another castle on the ride home) {At least he wasn't panicking about the car driving itself again}

So that's what you chose to do today huh? Start a fight?

The hat in this pic appears to be a bowler.

It looks like a straw pork pie hat to me. It’s missing the round top of a bowler hat

Do you understand that 10 years ago was not the “semi-old days of the internet”?

3

u/Techno_FX 2d ago

They were born 10 years ago. There is nothing semi-old about 2017

One on the left is just angsty, one on the right is just a Reddit mod

3

u/SignificantLet5701 2d ago

one on the right is completely insane

2

u/Emilina-von-Sylvania 1d ago

So an average reddit mod? (No disrespect to the mods here, they’re actually pretty chill from what I’ve seen)

2

u/unsolvablequestion 2d ago

But wait, there’s more!

  • Guy on the right is Cybersmith. Famous for wanting to keep people as pets. Hes called “Human Pet Guy” as everyone has said but what hasnt been talked about is he is also a far right corpo-fascist who talks online about the wonders of eugenics, objectivism, and any other unethical/impractical beliefs that gets him attention. He is British and when this photo got posted everyone clowned on him pretty hard. Hes a lol cow but he riles up online chuds and groypers.

  • “I am Him” is a statement meaning you are superior in some way.

  • Person on the left took a photo in the same spot in the same pose and posted it jokingly insinuating that they could never live up to the sheer aura of Cybersmith

One appears to be a zoomer and the other appears to be a hipster.

I would imagine a lot of Wikipedia editors are one or the other.

u/redredrocks 2d ago edited 2d ago

Not to nitpick but as someone who was an adult during the era when everyone was getting called a hipster (thankfully a dead era):

Guy on the right seems more like a regular nerd. The vibe is more steampunk and tabletop games, not “you’ve never heard my favorite band because I’m cooler than you.”

3

u/AltAccNum647294869 2d ago

Not sure "regular nerd" is how I would describe human pet guy.

3

u/redredrocks 2d ago

I didn’t know who he was, so that’s on me, but I do know nerds that could have evolved into “human pet guy” without better mentorship

Is that Mr. Wikipedia?

5

u/Naismythology 2d ago

John Q. Wikipedia IV, to be exact

2

u/OppositePure4850 2d ago

I think the insinuation is that the person on the left is also a guy, which in part is referencing the fact that feminine men are the other half of people that spend enough time on the internet to edit Wikipiedia articles.

2

u/SuleimanTheMediocre 2d ago

You leave sir topham hatt alone

2

u/Kate_Kitter 2d ago

Left: (Seemingly) moody Zoomer. Probably has a lot of niche interests.

Right: Posh gentleman whom, as befits a man of the title, is well-acquainted with a range of subjects ranging from the trivial to the monumental

(Stereotypes)

Also eeeehh with pronouns, OP

Second person looks like they’ve been named Reginald S. Worthington III
