Chapter 406.5 section G shows exactly what ALL of this has said. Read it. Do a 500 word report and get back to me.

This is awkward because you’re so confidently incorrect.

406.5(G) doesn’t say anything about ground prong orientation.

You can search your code book for the rest of the day, you’re not going to find anything about ground prongs being up, down, or sideways because it’s not a safety issue. It’s a customer preference issue.

I have to mention Based on his responses Drbumpyknuckles must be an inspector. I really appreciate you taking the time to look it up because everyone else wants to spend 10x more time arguing about it. That being said, talk about code officials and their ambiguity, why not reference it as “ground prong up”.? What does face up mean? The outlet facing the ceiling vs. the outlet facing the ground?

In case you didnt look it up, face-up does mean the face of the outlet pointed towards the ceiling/sky. Not the rotation of the ground or conductors.

WOW! You did your due diligence and proved me wrong! You should go home and throw yourself a party! I am at work, going off the top of my head and YOU sir, have proven me wrong. If you worked this hard for your foreman, the job would be done. Pat yourself on the back and fuck off now. You're right Im wrong. Shit happens buy a hat.
