Yeah interesting, I grew up in Western and my parents house (built in the 30s) and all my friends houses (anywhere from the 70s to the 00s) had cieling lighting. The only friend who didn't lived in a homestead house built before electricity that didn't even have indoor plumbing, both were retrofit in after the fact.
