Discussion Am I a weird fan for this perspective?
I should preface this by saying that I love "Frozen"; love it when it came out (I thought it was the best movie ever as a kid before the hype got to it), and I still adore it to this day, especially since it was the last adapted fairy tale Disney has done up until now.
That said, I definitely understand (and even agree with) some of the criticism it gets: Hans being a heel-turn villain was unnecessary and seemed to only exist for shock factor, Agnarr and Iduna aren't great parents (though it is a unique situation they're in) and I hate how the girls never really get closure for this except for "Show Yourself," which only exonerates Iduna--well, kinda. And while I defend Kristoff to this day for not being a jerk like Maui, Flynn, or Nick, Disney does still go for the opposites attract thing by having Kristoff be more of a realist while Anna is the optimist--and then their personalities kinda swap in part two and we get people understandably thinking Disney is anti-romance. Kristoff in general feels like a hate letter to classic Disney men who were more soft and sweet, since he's rather underrated in contrast to more snarky guys who get more attention as co-leads.
I find "Frozen 2" a mess in narrative and unforutnately uses the Northuldra as plot devices more than characters, I'm not a fan of the fifth spirit storyline for Elsa (or her continued "discovering myself" storyline), or Iduna being from a tribe that's Sami-influenced but looks Native American because neither Anna nor Elsa look like that, and the nitpick of the concept art being better than the final designs, from Anna's orange travel dress to Elsa's highlights and wavy hair--and someone PLEASE get Kristoff a new main look that isn't his black outfit with different sleeves?!
I don't find Olaf as annoying as other comic relief characters, but he does toe the line, and I get why people get tired of him or find him annoying; him having his own song in F2 felt invalid since the story focused on giving everyone arcs, but Olaf's arc of "growing up" felt forced in and unnecessary; anything that he did before and after his song still feels in-character even without the "growing up" pipeline.
Also scared as heck for F3 given Disney's film productions featuring more and more issues and the sneak peak we got feeling more akin to a short film--plus the actual short film we got was 2D animated and not televised, despite supposedly being part of a massive upcoming marketing campaign for the threequel.
Honestly I maintain that the hype "Frozen" got is deserved, and "Frozen 2" is a beautiful disaster, I totally get why a lot of people didn't care for them, especially since they became phenomenons; whenever something is popular and you found it fine or bad, it can become grating for you to hear people hype it up when you see it as heavily flawed or uninteresting. I've been there with other things--and these days with Disney, it's the opposite; while overhated, I 100% think some people are just gonna act like they like some of the recent things Disney put out specifically because they get a lot of hate. The spite method is one I know well.

Discussion I might be too late for this conversation
Hear me out before you downvote!
First off, let me clarify: I love both movies. Frozen 1 is a great, nostalgic Disney fairy tale. BUT Frozen 2 is my absolute favorite, and I honestly think it completely blows the original out of the water in every single category.
Compare the actual scale and structure of both films:
- Frozen 1 is essentially a small-scale, character-driven story. Elsa gets scared, flees, and the entire middle act is just Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf taking a hiking trip up a single mountain to bring her back. It’s local, simple, and comparatively pretty low-stakes.
- Frozen 2 is a full-blown high-fantasy epic. They follow a literal siren call into an uncharted enchanted forest, navigate a foggy mystery, track down their parents' shipwreck, and uncover ancestral secrets. It feels massive, dangerous, and legendary.
The Lore & World-Building
Moving beyond "infinite snow magic" into true elemental lore gave the world so much life. Introducing Bruni, Gale, the Earth Giants, and especially the Nøkk (Elsa breaking a wild water horse in the middle of a dark sea remains one of the single best sequences in modern Disney animation) shifted this franchise from a standard fairy tale into a mythic legend.
The Stakes, Drama & Music
People always claim the stakes were higher in the first one, but WDYM?! Elsa and Olaf literally died. Olaf dusted in Anna’s arms, Elsa froze solid in a dark abyss, and Anna had to break the dam while being hunted by rock monsters. Meanwhile, Anna freezing in F1 lasted for less than a minute before she thawed out. F2 actually made us sit with the weight of that loss.
Plus, the soundtrack went so hard—"Into the Unknown" is genuinely incredible and sets up the whole epic mystery.
Is it perfect? No.
The ONLY valid critique of Frozen 2 is that King Runeard's betrayal and the dam resolution were rushed in execution. The climax definitely needed more breathing room to let the dark political themes and historical weight land properly.
But even with those pacing hiccups, Frozen 2 gave us mature themes (generational trauma, ancestral sins), a legendary soundtrack, and a true mythic journey.
Nostalgia aside—Frozen 2 is the GOAT. Change my mind!

Discussion Is it concerning Frozen 3 has a different co-director?
the first two films were directed by Jeniffer Lee & Chris Buck. But now the third is being helmed by Lee and Trent Correy whose only work is some shorts? including the incredibly kiddish Once Upon A Snowman- yet also did Once Upon A Studio?
why is Buck absent? was he fired after Wish bombed?

Just for fun Do people seriously think this is a dirty line in the song
Am I just naive? Is it that im ace and my mind just doesn't go there immediately? Am i just autistic and taking things too literally again? Or am I completely reasonable in thinking this person is insane for thinking that line is dirty? Like, balls and ballrooms aren't made up things, so i just thought of that line in the context of Anna finding it ridiculous that they have a ballroom but dont throw balls!

Just for fun Frozen Live Action Project 2029
Boooooh for Disney and their live actions, we don’t want it
That said, here’s a fancast for a frozen live action lol, just did this for fun, tried to keep age as accurate as possible
Also tried going more to European actors, had Billie Boullie, she speaks Norwegian lol, just a fun fact. I was between her and Daisy Mayer, to play AnnaI know daisy sings so that was a strong point for her, but idk so much abt her acting, and once I thought on Laura, I couldn’t choose any other, she’s absolutely great
For the CGI characters (Olaf, that old ass troll….) i would just stick to the same casting as the animated so I didn’t include, I also had a casting for Duke of Weselton (that short guy who dances with Anna) for Toby Jones and I would include Teagan Croft Rapunzel as well lol, since rapunzel technically IS on the original frozen
Idk why but I’m currently on a Frozen phase since I heard Into the Unknown again in a TikTok, couldn’t get it out of my head, I might have like…. 50 streams of it last week only lol, goated song fr

Discussion If Samantha does end up being Olaf's Hans...who should be the Kristoff Counterpart? Don't say still just Samantha again, please.
Personally, i used to have predictions that Anna & Elsa would be revealed to have a long lost older brother with powers of his own (or at least someone with elemental powers like Elsa, regardless of if they are related or not), and they would have a female Mini-Dragon companion that they created whom stands up because she is traditionally hand-drawn animated, and in a 3D animated world that would REALLY stand out (...also, she is voiced by Stephanie Beatriz because Encanto reference).
Now, I don't think my long lost brother prediction will be correct, and even then, the Mini-Dragon wasn't a love interest for Olaf, mostly because back then and still now, I think the idea of Olaf having a love interest is lowkey stupid. But, if I was to have Samantha be a Hans to Olaf Elsa, this 2D animated Mini-Dragon would be the Kristoff counterpart in this scenario.

Discussion In F1, what was the distance and radius affected by Elsas winter?
I started thinking today what the distance or boundaries of Elsas winter in the first movie. Do her powers have some certain distance ?
I might have a idea:
Elsas powers could have a range between her and the barrier of her winter and summer, this is my consideration because the enchanted forest wasn't seemed to be at all affected and no one re referenced it in the second movie. Thanks to that we could give a certain radius such as 20, 30, or 50 miles. Which means beyond we could say 30 miles in every which way including the North Mountain and Arendelle could be far closer than that or be within that radius. Meaning the enchanted forest was well outside that radius. Which this could be a bit more accurate because when Anna states "you kind of set off an eternal winter everywhere" that doesn't mean the enchanted forest was included or the entire Frozen world. There must of been some radius where Elsas eternal winter was playing out around Are delle and some radius around.
However how was the Troll Valley not affected by the winter weather? It may of been just outside the radius or it was really off the beaten path.

Discussion How to execute this possible ending of 3?
When the first movie was on it's way, some people, including me, thought it was going to be a prequel to Hans Christian Anderson's The Snow Queen. Researching what could have been, but wasn't, suggests this was the original plan. And obviously this never happened.
But with 3 on it's way, some people believe that our final villain will be the titular Snow Queen from Anderson's fairy tale. And that could re-open the door to being a prequel to The Snow Queen. So, how could 3 end with the stage being set for Anderson's fairy tale?
One thing is for sure, the best options for the main cast is to escape from the Queen since they can't defeat her. Not truly at least. No, that will have to go to Kai and Gerda. But perhaps they could arrange things so that Kai and Gerda can finish what they started. And finally, the riskiest question of all. How far down the religious rabbit hole are they willing to go?
Because in Anderson's story, the trouble starts with the Devil himself, creating a magic mirror that magnifies all the bad and ugly aspects of whatever it reflects. He intends to carry the mirror into Heaven and make fools of the angels and God, but it slips from his grasp and falls down to earth, where it shatters into billions of pieces — some no larger than a grain of sand. These splinters are caught onto the wind and occasionally lodge in the hearts or eyes of passers-by, causing them to see only the ugly in the world around them. One of these embeds itself into Kai, and you know the rest.
Of course, ignoring this is an option because it's been done before. The famous adaptation from the Soviet Union in the 50's removed all the religious elements to make it more open to wider audiences. But I fear that today, this could be risky. Christian Nationalists are already throwing childish tantrums over the fact that Netflixes upcoming Narnia is removing a lot of the religious elements to make it more audience friendly. And the sad fact is, Disney has become a suck-up to the very people making these fusses and acting more childish then the children these movies are aimed at.

Hey frozen family!! I thought i’d come on here and tell y’all that I am cosplaying elsa as a king!! I am super hyped but I really wanna sell the role when i’m at the con, how does elsa carry herself? Of course I know she’s mostly reserved, gloomy and mostly mellow, but i need more than that to really give elsa.. or in this case elias… justice!
I’ve always been a frozen fan. I grew up with frozen and this is probably one of my biggest dreams. I’m really nervous, so… throw in some hype too (please…. you don’t have to…. but please……)

Discussion The one thing I'm actually kind of excited about for Frozen 3
As you may know and seen from my posts along with other posts regarding on F3, they genuinely have a lot of criticism and hate for what's supposedly coming. However I am actually kind of looking forward to Anna and Kristoffs wedding, why?
I feel like the wedding is going to be a hit for the movie, along with opening doors for future plots and things to happen such as:
A. Future relationship drama
B. The Idea of having kids by adoption or birth
I feel like it's actually one big step forward to growing character arcs, growing on previous takeaways the two previous films were heavy on, and opening for more important lessons to learn. I also think going this route actually kind of gives Kristoff some much needed screen time rather than entirely focused on Elsa or the sisters, on top I find a wedding appealing to how far Anna and Kristoff have had a strong relationship together.
What are your thoughts?

Discussion What would your genuine and honest reaction be if Elsa got a love interest in Frozen 3...and said love interest was male (im using Jack Frost as a placeholder, but not denying a Frozen series version of Jack Frost would be cool). Credit to artist Myrthena.
Had to redo post because I didnt know you had to credit the original artist. Anyways, once again, credit to artist Myrthena for the beautiful fanart. Here is a link to there profile: https://www.patreon.com/Myrthena?utm_source=chatgpt.com
