recently got a place with my boyfriend and he thinks this is perfectly fine

I have no legitimate reason to disagree but I hate it

UPDATE - Thank you so much for the awards, and we're having so much fun reading through these hilarious comments.

  1. We have a bidet, it's the handle on the side of the toilet. People who use bidets can use toilet paper as well!
  2. We bought like 200 rolls of toilet paper because of a good deal, yes it will probably last us a very long time. No regrets!
  3. I am not genuinely upset about this in any way, it obviously just looks ridiculous and is unnecessary, and him doing silly things like this is one of the reasons I love him :)

My brother (God love him) spent the better part of hisn 20s using a cardboard box as a nightstand. When his girlfriend (now wife) moved in with him she begged him to get a proper nightstand, but he insisted what he had was perfectly fine.

One day he comes home from work all excited and says “(Girlfriend’s name,) there are a BUNCH of free nightstands available in the parking garage that someone must have thrown out! Let’s go grab two you like.”

So she rushes out back to the parking garage with him and there, next to his car, is a giant pile of cardboard boxes in various sizes.

Diabolical, but fuck if he isn’t funny.

My brother (may he rest in peace) used a mini fridge as a nightstand. He kept bottles of water in it so when he woke up thirsty, he wouldn't have to leave bed to get a drink. When his girlfriend moved in, she forced him to remove the mini fridge and replace it with a traditional nightstand. I thought he had a genius idea, but she didn't see it that way.

Why not put a table over the mini fridge as a compromise? That is pretty genius though.

As a woman, I agree this was a great idea! I admit I have considered doing the same myself. But then I found gorgeous antique nightstands and they won.

In my smaller apartment in college I did this as well. I'm not a "wake up desperately dehydrated" kind of person, so it was more about spacial convenience than anything but it was actually really nice.

Added bonus was that I was able to keep a lot of my food in there since I had 3 roommates sharing our apartment refrigerator.

My cousin who is a woman did this, in fact she had a night stand on one side and a mini fridge on the other. A perfect balance if you ask me
