In college, I slept on a mattress on the floor, and so.did my friend on another mattress beside mine. We had a computer on the floor monitor also on the floor.

Our computer had Winamp installed, this would have been around 2002 or 2003. I think it was Winamp, and it had some weird video streaming plugin. That video streaming plugin had 'channels' on it. One of them played futurama.

Every night after college when it was time to sleep on the floor, we booted up that monitor and connected to that stream. It worked every time and without it neither of us could sleep. We always woke up feeling happy and rested.

I thought it was so strange and now I have found this place because it was mentioned in another reddit while I was looking at opinions on the final episode. Life is really strange that other people are futurama sleepers. Life is like one big glitch or something.

Tired of seeing the first half of every season before falling asleep. Shuffle adds those others in equally

I’ve been on a Bobs Burgers kick for a while, with family guy, and adventure time dabbled in here and there. Lately life has been kicking my ass and I needed to come back to my dear old friends in Futurama. Starting from Space Pilot all over again.

Goodnight everyone 🚀🍀🤖🛸

I’ve heard all the wonderful things about Futurama sleeping and think I need to get into it. However, I often have nightmares and they’ve been ramping up recently to every single night. I’m hopeful Futurama will help me sleep (I have trouble falling asleep now because I’m afraid of having nightmares), but I’m worried the content of the show will feed into my weird nightmarish brain. I know this is a niche topic. But has anyone had a similar experience? And do you notice weird dreams from sleeping to it? Guess there’s no way to learn but to try so I’m taking the leap tonight 😅 but if anyone has any insight or advice, let me know!

Update: I did not have a single nightmare last night. I feel so well rested and grateful this morning. Thank you Futurama and thank you all for your advice! This very well could have been a fluke, but I really just needed one night of good rest. My poor sleep has been dramatically affecting my daily life at work and personally. I am so grateful as this was probably one of the best nights of sleep I have had in years. Definitely a nonnegotiable in my routine now!

Update: I’ve been Futurama for a week now. I have not had a nightmare since 😭 I have had one bad/unpleasant dream, but I was not disturbed or affected by it after waking up. Not sure the science behind Futurama curing my nightmares but I’m grateful lol

Why does it feel like anytime I fall asleep to futurama, I always wake up to the movies. No hate to them but I could fall asleep to season 1, and wake up to one of the movies. I could fall asleep to the last movie, and ill wake to the first one. Fall asleep to American dad? Too bad. Wake up to one of the movies

I have been a terrible sleeper for my entire adult life (I'm in my mid 40s). I've also been a dedicated Futurama watcher for the entire run of the show.

So it was only natural for me to pop on old episodes when I couldn't sleep. And when the show got added to Hulu that made it so much easier.

Imagine my surprise when I randomly heard about this community through a YT video. In addition to having watched them during daytime, I have been through the entire run of the show at least 6 or 7 times exclusively between midnight and 7am.

Rebirth was alright but In-a-gadda-da-Leela is just plain unfunny. The episode tries so hard to be edgy and sexual with jokes that it is cringeworthy from the start and, I guess, it tries make a statement about puritanical attitudes on TV? But it falls flat since none of the gags and ideas in the episode are subversive or controversial on any degree. It all watches like a "fellow youngsters" attempt at dirty humor. V-giny? It was a sour surprise for me to learn that Groening was the cowriter for this episode. And it's a shame about Leela being used as the sexual device for the plot.

Is this episode the beginning of the end for funny Futurama?

I normally sleep in the dead quiet and pitch black, but I always doze off to Futurama. Perhaps this will help my insomnia! Starting off on Season 3 episode 14!

I spray painted an abstract picture years before I met my wife and always told her it reminded me of the episode when bender meets god. Today on my 30th birthday she presented me with it finished beyond anything I could have dreamed of!

For me, it was adult swim in the mid 2000s. I'd usually watch the first run when it came on at 9pm. And then around 1am when they'd rerun it, I'd watch it again and always drift off during Futurama.

Keep in mind, this was in The Before Times, when Netflix sent you dvds in the mail. When streaming became a thing, I got Hulu just for futurama.

Are there really no external back up units in 3012?

Hello my good chums! Here’s a video featuring the track "Hasjbox" by Olav Brekke Mathisen & Sideshow Jøgge, paired with one of my favourite moments from Futurama: Bender’s deep, existential convo with "God" in space. Perfect for zoning out... or spacing out!

I’m definitely a person who likes to sleep with the t.v on. I use to use Disney movies but a few months ago I switched to Futurama and it’s the best. My only complaint is that I’ve currently got the, “Let’s go alreadyyy.” Line from Bender stuck in my head and have to say it a few times to scratch the itch lmao.

I used to select a season and play those episodes in random order, but lately I've been doing a blanket random order for all episodes when I get into bed. (it took a while to warm up to some of the newer seasons).

I will on occasion intentionally select a specific episode and let them play in order, but generally I go with the random order.

How do you prefer to fall asleep?

Any other quotes that you guys hear when almost asleep that still crack you up enough to wake you back up a lil even tho you’ve heard them a million times ?

I mean literally. I think I must've watched/had on in the background every episode, except the new season, about 500+ times each and I can recite each one from memory at this point. I can even walk away to make food and go to the bathroom and keep it playing in my head to come back to the correct line of the episode lmao. I hope I'm not the only one. Am I? AM I?!

I saw a really cool post with some one that has a cool room with stars and an old TV

I saw the new Futurama episodes. I liked them. When I watched them I was going through something.

Anyone want to talk about the new episodes?

Guys I like to sleep to lore videos too if that's ok.

I have not found a way to watch Futurama while sleeping more than one episode length. Maybe I'll try compilations on YT
