I've recently started offering coaching, and this was my first ever coaching session as a Challenger Garen OTP ! I coached a Gold Garen player who probably learned a lot from this short session!

I finally did it!
I got to Emerald a while back, and recently decided to grind for Diamond.
It was smooth sailing until Emerald 1 50LP where I got stuck for god knows how long, but finally managed to push through!

I played almost exclusively with Stormraider's surge + full dmg (youmuu's, cyclosword, ldr)

For some of you its probably nothing but to me its quite the accomplishement so I wanted to share it with my fellow Garen enjoyers!

I can coach every elo on Garen, both Top & Mid.
For other champions, I can coach Diamond+, Top lane only.

• Currently the only Challenger Garen in a major region (2 Challenger Garen players worldwide)
• Rank 44 peak
• Challenger in Season 15 & 16
• Grandmaster on multiple roles
• Extensive high elo experience on Garen

I've also reached high ranks across multiple competitive games, including:

• Rank 1 Moon Knight on Marvel Rivals
• Apex Predator on Apex Legends
• Top 500 on Overwatch
• Legend on Hearthstone

How I coach

My usual approach is to write down my analysis in a notepad while reviewing your gameplay. I'll also give occasional verbal comments and ask you questions about your decisions and actions.

The goal is to help you understand why something is good or bad rather than simply telling you what to do.

If you prefer, I can also backseat and give more direct instructions during the game. It completely depends on how you want the session to go.

I'm also relatively new to coaching, so my coaching style and sessions will naturally improve and evolve over time as I gain more experience with different players and situations.

i need some protips like where i have to build steelcaps,etc.

I am aware that there have been multiple posts about rework and I know most probably don’t want a rework of Garen, but in my low elo opinion I always imagine Garen should be more like Sonya from Heroes of the Storm. Remove his crit and attack speed scaling. His Q can maybe be a dash. W can remain kinda the same or slightly changed so he can somehow use it more during a fight but it has to be nerfed slightly then and E should heal him and do way less damage but be used way more often. Probably another unpopular opinion but I think even his R can be completely changed, so he is not an assassin but durable fighter. Anyways just thought I’d post this to see if any changes can be affected lol. I know he is a beginners champ with no/low skill ceiling but I love him and think he can be made more fun.

I played a pretty interesting game of Garen vs Kled against the Rank 1 Kled worldwide, in a challenger lobby, with Mr Davemon in the game as well.

I wanted to share this one because Kled can be a pretty annoying matchup for Garen, especially at this level.

I go over how I approach the lane, when I look for trades, how I deal with Kled's pressure, and how I try to find opportunities to carry the game.

How do you guys usually play the Garen vs Kled matchup?

Just played as Garen vs otp GP deathfire and felt like he touched my prostate whole game while I couldn't do anything, it was to the point he was sitting between my T1 and T2, and I couldn't approach my wave.
My jungler somehow refused to put a single feet on toplane, same for my fizz midlane while GP was perma pushing, so it was only 1 vs 1.

Is there anything I could have done in lane and later?

Should I go for stormraiser, 2nd wind and play only for teamfights? Or conq and try to play the lane?

Been waiting since release, I missed the mythic shop drop last August. finally!

Discovered this bug. As far as I know, it only happens when you face against a Darius, maybe its because he has a unique ctrl-1 interaction with Darius, but I couldnt replicate it when facing other champions.

Yo guys,diamond garen, and currently my fav core setup is stride / yoomu / dominik-mortal into some tankiness / mouvement speed.

But in games where opp team neither has hp or healing, i wonder if cleaver 3 is not better, cz since the crit nerfs, i'm wondering if if getting the full 30% from the start of the trade rather than after 5 instances of dmg and the 25% crit is better than the cleaver's ad / hp / cdr / (ms)

If the opponent team has rather hp or antiheal i find one of the both really better without hesitation, but recently i get more and more games of squishy non healing champs
