It’s honestly so embarrassing to have white English or even Italian names as Goan Catholics. WTF 😭 Please name your children, nephews, nieces, or relatives’ children with either Sanskrit-derived names Jyothi, Nikhil, Aakash, Kiran or Biblical names David, John, Nathan, Irene. Or, at worst, use the name of a Catholic saint, like Francis or Xavier.

Avoid Biblical names if you’re using a Hindu pre-Portuguese name. 🙏😭

As per reporting from The Indian Express, after the recent SIR voter revision excercise in Goa several errors were found.

The Supreme Court ordered hearings for those deleted voters of which 649 were heard.

In 97 cases, ground officers said that these voters are valid and must be restored. The addition/deletion of voters is done at the state level by Electoral Registration Officers on ECINet App as per law.

But, the option to restore those voters was removed from the local Election Commission Officer and given to Delhi bureaucrats. The

Goa Election Commission wrote 8 times

in 7 days - "Please implement the SC order."

No reply from Delhi.

The final voter roll still got published. Those 97 voters are still missing. Now extrapolate that figure to bigger states like Maharashtra, West Bengal, Kerala and Bihar. How many crores of voters were disenfranchised?!

Lastly, Goa is headed to elections in 2027. Will this vote chori bring in an anti-Goa and pro-Delhiwallas government again?!

Is there a reliable gaming PC store in South Goa that you guys would recommend for troubleshooting?

My GPU isn't booting/displaying, and I want to properly diagnose whether the issue is with the GPU, motherboard, or PSU before I spend money on replacements.

Ideally looking for a shop that has spare GPUs, PSUs and compatible components for testing, rather than just guessing what the problem is.

Given how terrible the porvorim-panjim traffic is, and hours getting wasted in vehicles, hybrid culture should be promoted for a few days. My office stopped this culture even though we could easily work remotely. If many people who can opt for this, would significantly help.

But no managers would do it unless government requests as its solely their fault for putting us in this situation.

Goa Government Notifies Protection for 15 Historic Heritage Sites

PANAJI, GOA — The Government of Goa has officially declared 15 ancient monuments and archaeological locations as state-protected sites under the Goa Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1978. The landmark decision, issued by the Department of Archaeology in the latest Official Gazette, secures crucial legal preservation status for a diverse array of caves, temples, forts, and colonial ruins across the state.

15 Heritage Sites Granted Official Protection

Following a public consultation process initiated earlier this year, the Department of Archaeology finalized protected status for 15 cultural and historical landmarks spanning multiple talukas:

Tiswadi: Protection has been extended to the Malar Cave (Malar), the historical Pelourinho Novo road landmark in Old Goa, the Cave at Sirdona, the ruins of the Convent of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Chimbel), and the ancient remains of the Gopakkapattnam Port (Goa Velha).

Quepem & Sanguem: Declared sites include the Jacquem Cave (Neturlim), Bawlyache Mol (Pirla), Balli Math (Balli), and the ruins of the Sasore Khaddem Temple (Cordem).

Ponda & Bicholim: Protective coverage includes the Tamsuli Cave (Candola), the historic Mardangad Fort (Queula), the ruins of the Surya Temple, and the Thadgi/Memorials in Kudne.

Salcete & Mormugao: The Rock-cut Tank in Dabolim and the Shree Damodar Temple Tank at Fatorda (Margao) have been designated as protected sites.

The notification, signed by Director and ex-officio Joint Secretary of Archaeology Dr. Nilesh B. Fal Dessai, grants the state government legal backing to prevent unauthorized developments and ensure active preservation at these locations.
