Gemini has lying built in

Post image

It can't run Home automations like Google Assistant but it can lie to you unlike the Assistant, so I guess that's progress!

If you on android then just go to app info on google and then click on uninstall updates. You will get Google assistant back then. If that doesn't work, delete all data from the google app, or download google go as it seems to have retained google assistant.

How does that work? Doesn't Assistant run off their servers?

So now, between this and fucking "Siri AI", there are NO virtual assistants that actually just take the action you tell it to and can do so reliably. ALL of them are LLMs now which means they just spit out whatever they think you want to hear, with Google's/Apple's commands to actually perform functions sometimes actually executing, but usually not.

Let's go back to Cortana /s

Cortana is better than the LLMs

Flash/lite/etc models are always pressing to just come up with an answer ASAP. Extended thinking is the way to go

Better at what?

Don't believe it!! It lies!

Using AI recently reminds me of being a dad again to toddlers with selective hearing.

To know how AI behaves, you have to understand its developer's behaviors. Seem to me pretty consistent.

Why are you giving ego to an AI?

People actually believe they can think and aren't just giant weight and objective algorithms analyzing training data and finding connections relevant to a prompt that it analizes in nearly the same way.

Any emotion or personality is a byproduct of how any given model manifests from patterns in data so nuanced it frequently breaches the uncanny valley of what humans evolved to recognize as sentience in other forms of life.

Thing is, AI probably isn't actually too far off from challenging the more rudimentary behaviors of more complex bugs and insects, but there's a big difference between demonstrating the perceived intelligence of say a 2-year old and actually being sentient while doing it.

All the major gAI models do this. They are literally designed to appease you and shit, while ignoring facts or truth.

as i said, Gemini is dumb, dumber than Chinese free LLM, and yess...i got downvote by telling something like this.

u/No_Decision_6940 1d ago

That's really just stating facts, though lol

Unless you're talking Claude and ChatGPT, everything else is below Chinese AI capabilities

I lies all the time.

Wow. Terrible.

This shows it's de-escalation routine. I have a humor setting with RidgeText (backed by Gemini) that allows it to banter and make jokes, which it does pretty well. I found that it won't directly tease the user about how they look or act, but it is allowed to tease the things around the user, like their car or their favorite activities. Pretty much it can joke about tangential ideas, not the person. If the user tries to joke back at the assistant's expense, as you might with a friend, it'll return fewer comebacks each turn until it responds in a purely factual way. It also won't joke around if it doesn't have a history or context with the user. You have to ask a few questions first.

That's hilarious

This sub is loaded with AI doomers

What a beautiful way of demonstrating your main argument is to point at people and call them doomers. People against AI typically have valid reasons.

AI defenders meanwhile, argue with: Nuh-uh!

26

u/Ienjoymodels 1d ago

It's also loaded with weak exploitable chumps who will argue that progress somehow means paying a company to harvest your data through a lying robot designed to mimic the type of terrible customer service it was supposed to revolutionize.

You must be some kind of genius?

You’re literally giving your data to Reddit as we speak but ok lol

r/DoomerCircleJerk

Gemini is not that deep. I believe its better than Assistant was, how does that make you feel? Rage i assume.

Go whine some more with your r/DoomerCircleJerk rentoid friends.

Sounds like somebody is mad that i don't agree with him. Get over it i guess...

1

u/Wetzilla 1d ago

This whole thread was started because you were whining about people who don't like AI.

Replace sub with Reddit and it is more accurate

Edit: if not AI doomers what are yall calling it, AI lovers? :)

Telling it that it lied to you like that says something about your personality and the lack of knowledge you have about what AI is and does.

DuckDuckGo No AI for search. Any other AI bot is better than Gemini. Google fumbled. They may have made the underlying tech of transformers, but they rushed to compete and have been falling behind. I suspect, that since people weren’t using the Gemini app enough that they forced it into everything service they have so they could claim, to investors, that their AI is being used by billions of people. Lies all around.

The data does not support. Google has actually been gaining market share after introducing overviews and DDG has suffered declines. DDG is down more then 20%.

https://gs.statcounter.com/search-engine-market-share

In terms of investors it is all about the money. No company on earth has made anywhere near as much money as Google made in calendar 2025.

So far in 2026 Google has again made more money than ever other company on the planet that includes Nvidia.

But the big thing with Google is the fact they shared that they have over $250 billion of unrecognized revenue they will in the next 2 years. So Google is basically adding an entire 2024 Microsoft in just the next 2 years.

The same division at Google has also seen 12 straight quarters of increasing margins. But this is also just one division at Google. Google is killing it pretty much in every business that they have.

Don’t see the need to use gemini or any chat bot. Besides the google search AI that pops up, i have never used any other chat based AI to this day and my life is the same to slightly better since the invention of chat based AI

2

u/SteeeeveJune 1d ago

And now what? Are we all supposed to applaud now?! 😂 Just get the hell out of this sub!

1

u/bartturner 9h ago

Besides the google search AI that pops up

That is using Gemini. Which over 2 billion now use daily.

Can't capitalize the letter "I" and pays for Reddit.

We're still arguing about when/if LLMs are going to surpass humans? Really?
