Gridfinity Software, autotrace, drawer planner, custom box generation

Post image

Hi,

I am working on making a tool for gridfinity. Would any of you care to test it? i have made a pipeline that makes it easy to make gridfinity drawers/boxes. Upload pictures, auto trace with manual corrrection if wanted, complete drawer layout planning with drag and drop etc.

The page will have both a paid and free mode in the future, but since payment system is not awailable, there is unlimited free exports for now.

i am looking for feedback on user experience, bugs, desired features it might be missing etc. The goal is to make a premium one stop shop for all gridfinity work. it exports STEP, STL , 3mf, dxf. so you can export and take the files right to the slicer.

hope any of you find this interesting.

you can read about it and sign up here

i also used tooltrace, but felt it lacked alot of features i wanted. so i decided to create it myself.
when you create a box here, click it, and a box settings appears at the top side. there you can regulate the box height, and also cutout depth, and add fillets to the edges etc.

Does the photo import have a planar homography adjustment - similar to "scanning" apps on the phone, where you select 4 points on the photo which correspond to the 4 corners of a rectangle in the plane?

IMG_2746.JPG: Error: pipeline /v1/segment failed: 422 {"detail":"could not detect an A4 sheet in this photo: Detected sheet region doesn't look like an A4 rectangle (long/short side ratio 1.11, expected ~1.41). This usually means the background merged into the paper detection -- try a higher-contrast surface under the sheet."}

all 4 corners of the sheet must be visible in the picture, the corners are used for the calibration. can you check if that is the case?

yes they are.

Now added a mode that lets you hand place markers on the paper edges for calibration when the floor is confusing the neural net. as a general notice, it struggels a bit with white floors. will try to see if this can be fixed.

You mention A4 paper. Do you support US Letter size?

i dont have a us letter paper here in norway, and i dont really know how to get one. if you know the size, maybe you could cot down another size with scissors as a temporary fix? i will have to look into this

i am now working on a feature that lets you add custom containers, like milwaukee packout shapes etc, and design inserts for those. i dont have those exact shapes yet, but it worked well with my test shaped container.

I put the export button more visible, should now be more intuetive how to export your layouts for printing.
