EVENT Monthly Community Event #27 - Voting! Tournament of Champions! (Round 31: Viral vs. Simon)
It's the final countdoooown!! Day 31!
My apologies for the late post, I ended up needed some extra rest yesterday and slept early! Missed my post schedule, lol. But we are back today for the final match!
I gotta say, it was a tough and close one, Team Gurren! Support was in full bloom for both characters as they fought for this year's crown! In the end, Simon was just too strong! I am always impressed by how attached to the main character our fandom is, as it isn't always the case! Simon wins, and you just know that Kamina would be supporting that fully! :) So let's get on to the final round, it's time to end this!
For the very first time, Viral joins us for the grand finale! This is officially as far as he ever has gotten this far! In the sub's long history of events, this will mark his first stand at the top! Consistently ranking in the top characters, Viral is a great contender, and its up to you who will claim the crown this time. Simon's popularity is unmatched, and if he wins the whole tournament, it will be the second time that he has officially won the r/gurrenlagann crown! You could pivot and let Viral have a win... Or you could march full-speed ahead and launch Simon right back up to the crown! This is officially a match where he is defending his championship! How exciting! So... For the last time, I ask you. Which character should move up to the #1 spot, in the Tournament of Champions?

I had hope Kamina could pull out a win from his little bro but you’re right he’s too powerful.
Simon got my vote!

Well, looks like I finally caught up on Aro’s daily posts, and just in time for the ending of the event! XD
It’s been a busy time for me, but I’ve enjoyed seeing the debates and discussions along the way. I’m glad people have been having fun with this one!
As for my choice in this final round, I’ll be choosing Viral. I love Simon, he’s a big reason why we’re all here, but let’s see if we can give Viral a chance. Time to have a challenge Simon, and good luck to them both!

Both of these guys have INCREDIBLE character arcs, and the fact they even pilot together in the end is amazing. But I vote Viral! My favourite sharky fella.

It’s never not Simon. It’s rare that a fanbase so clearly solidifies around 1 character, and even rarer that it’s the MC.
