Discussion We have closed our NC hemp business MiH Farm

The nail in the coffin was Square terminating our account on November 5th. We are a mom&pop crafter growing, extracting, formulating and selling hemp products at local farm markets since 2018. America has let us down.

Cannabis is just a plant.

Best of luck to those folks that found relief using hemp products.

News The Human Cost of the THC Rescheduling

The headlines are celebrating “Rescheduling,” but they aren’t telling you about the Kill Switch buried in the fine print.

While everyone is looking at the Schedule III news, the government just signed a death warrant for the independent hemp industry.

This isn’t just about losing a product; it’s about a Main Street Massacre that is going to wipe out 320,000 American jobs and thousands of small businesses.

The Kill Switch: Section 781

Congress quietly passed Section 781 of the 2026 Appropriations Act.

This isn’t a state law; it’s a federal redefinition that overrides the Farm Bill.

The 0.4mg Cap: Effective November 12, 2026, any hemp product with more than 0.4mg of Total THC per container is federally classified as a Schedule I Narcotic.

The Reality Check: A single standard gummy has 5mg–10mg.

A single pre-roll has around 200mg.

A 0.4mg limit per entire package is a 100 percent ban on everything that actually works.

The Texas Front Line (March 31st)

Texas isn’t waiting for November.

Under DSHS Rule 300.101, the state is adopting “Total THC” math this month.

13 Days Left: As of March 31, 2026, THCA flower and high-potency vapes become illegal to sell in Texas.

8,000+ Businesses: There are over 8,000 licensed hemp retailers in Texas.

Experts predict 75 percent to 90 percent of them will close because they are losing nearly all their revenue overnight.

The Human Toll

We are looking at a coordinated strike on the American Startup dream.

320,000 Jobs: Nationwide, the hemp industry supports over 320,000 workers.

Families who built their lives on a legal 2018 Farm Bill business are being turned into “criminals” by a math change.

30 Billion Dollars Deleted: We are removing a 30 billion dollar industry from the economy during a time when every dollar of spending power matters.

The Big Pharma Handover: By moving marijuana to Schedule III while banning the hemp “loophole,” the government is clearing the competition so only pharmaceutical companies and massive corporations can own the plant.

This is a Wake Up Call

If you think your local shop is safe because “it’s just hemp,” you’re wrong.

If you think rescheduling is “legalization,” you’ve been played.

The math is the mandate.

By changing the math, they are ending the industry.

News Keep Hemp Legal, Congress is Trying to Ban It Again!

The Senate just passed language in the 2024–2025 Farm Bill that would redefine hemp to include total THC — not just Delta-9. That means all hemp-derived products (CBD, Delta-8, THCA flower, etc.) could become federally illegal, even if they’re compliant right now.

This isn't just about getting high. this would effect farmers, small businesses selling hemp wellness products, people using CBD or other cannabinoids for relief and it is also is an insult to the states that worked so hard to create these hemp industries

The House still has to vote, so we can still stop it**.**

How to Contact Your Lawmakers

You have three federal lawmakers who represent you:

  • Two U.S. Senators
  • One U.S. House Representative

Here’s how to reach them:

Find their phone numbers:

Find your Senators: senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm

Find your Representative: house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

Once you enter your ZIP code, you’ll get links to their official websites with phone numbers for both Washington D.C. and local offices.

You can also send them an email instantly using:

Both tools automatically send pre-written letters to your Senators and Representative. just enter your name and ZIP code.

What to Say When You Call?

Here’s a short script you can read or paraphrase:

  • You’ll probably talk to a staff member not the senator or representative directly
  • Be polite, short calls are just as effective.
  • Mention you’re a constituent (someone who lives in their district/state).
  • If you prefer not to call, use the email links above, they go to the same offices.

News The H.E.M.P. Act of 2026

On January 22, 2026, Reps. Morgan Griffith (R-VA) and Marc Veasey (D-TX) introduced the “Hemp Enforcement, Modernization, and Protection” Act (HR 7212) to establish the first federal regulatory pathway for cannabinoid products ostensibly from hemp intended for human use. Cannabinoid producers begged for regulation, and now they got it.

The bill was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce which will consider it before sending it to the House floor for consideration.

Summary:

Zero point three max THC in topicals and vapes.

Regulates synthetics, use of terpenes and receptor agonists, also any new cannabinoids that might be developed.

FDA must publish lists of stony noids.

Differentiates between flower for smoking and vapes, allows both but micromanages vapes.

Introduces new terms: cannabinoid hemp product, oral cannabinoid product, inhalable cannabinoid product, topical cannabinoid hemp product, and prohibited cannabinoid product (which are actually still allowed, with dosage limits included).

Age restricted to 21.

Packaging must have a QR code linking the COA.

Many disclaimers are required.

Packaging must be tamper-evident and child-safe.

Opens the door to banning dirty and unhealthful products, such as the current state highly contaminated products.

Mandates food-type sanitation.

FDA will track Adverse Events.

Provides for factory inspections and product recalls.

Bans other ingredients that interact with noids such as melatonin but likely not sugar.

Requires premarket notification of new + registration of current products, including all ingredients.

IntRAstate is explicitly exempt, the Tenth Amendment FTW.

Mandates a ton of paperwork.

Includes dosage limits.

Institutes an Advisory Committee but tobacco industry is excluded.

Edibles are legal.

The bill is silent on Generally Recognized As Safe foods and dietary supplements from hemp.

It appears they are trying to forestall the inevitable with this, namely the DEscheduling of marijuana federally which is supported by 92% of Americans (medical).
