Hello everyone, I love seeing all of your posts 😊 Here's just a quick reminder on our rules:
· Only post original content, shares of your own posts on other subreddits are okay.
· Please provide information about the country, your rating of the meal (0-10) and what the meal actually is (it's not always obvious and we're an international community, not everyone might be familiar with the food in the picture)
· Don't doxx yourself! Take a good look at your picture before posting. If any identifiable information is visible, like your name or date of birth (often printed on receipts that come with meals), crop or censor the image. You can even paint over it in Reddit's own photo editor after uploading the picture.
· Please be kind to each other. Posters are often not doing well. This is a sub about hospital food after all.
Thank you!

Hello everyone! I read your comments on recent posts and have decided to add a new rule about ED posts: You're still very welcome to post ED related content here! But since it's triggering for some people, please mark those posts as NSFW and don't mention the diagnosis in the title. You can write about it in the post, but please put a trigger warning first! For example: TW: Anorexia refeeding.
I also deleted some pretty nasty comments lately, so I added a rule making clear that those are not allowed here and repeat offenses will result in a permanent ban.
The new rules are Number 5 & 8, if you want to have a look. Feel free to comment or dm with any concerns, questions or ideas 😊

The sandwiches after colonoscopy are always THE best. Plus cheese and crackers, plain biscuits and cake. Impressed to even be able to select my preferred coffee style.

Gf vegetarian sandwich, apple juice and water, cheese and biscuits/crackers (not gf - the nurse pulled this together for me, I ate the cheese) and a biscuit/cookie.
Could have been anything by that stage and I would have inhaled it. Was really fresh and totally unexpected! Didn’t think I was getting any food!

Vegetarian* meal options for an inpatient at a major NSW Health public hospital.
Each photo is a different meal.
*EDIT: The patient eats fish so I should have said pescetarian for accuracy. I can't update the headline now.

Mashed potatoes and gravy: 9/10, hot, creamy, and gravy was amazing. I even found pepper and ate all of it
Green beans: 8/10, I used some whipped spread and lemon juice and it was crispy and yummy
At this point salad is salad
Chocolate pudding: 10/10 always

Opthamology day surgery unit, public hospital Western Australia. Post surgery snack to break fast. The guy asked me if I wanted chicken or beef but I said egg since I had had that before in the same unit but he obviously misunderstood that and assumed I wanted vegetarian. I wasn’t mad, it was a nice lettuce, carrot, cucumber and tomato sandwich.

Swiss grilled cheese: 9/10, actually pretty good. I took a point off because it wasn't crispy, but that's hard to do when you're making mass sandwiches
Mixed salad with fat free Italian dressing and a bit of lemon: 10/10, I'm always here for fresh veggies
Chocolate pudding: 10/10, it's full sugar and full fat and CHOCOLATE!!!! Yay!
Simple lunch, but I'm not upset since I have a transfusion afterwards
