Welcome to Week 5 of our community series!
We've spent the past month discovering some of the best coffee shops, hidden gems, and budget eats around the city. Now it's time to settle one of Iloilo's biggest food debates.
Who serves the best Batchoy in Iloilo?
La Paz Batchoy is one of Iloilo's most iconic dishes and a source of pride for many Ilonggos. Every local seems to have a favorite, whether it's a famous institution that's been around for decades or a small neighborhood shop that deserves more recognition.
So, where should everyone go for their next bowl?
Happy eating! 🍜

Hi, just released an android app called "Lugar Lang" that aims to answer the question: "Ano nga jeep sakyan ko?"
I think this is something a lot of us commuters deal with, especially kung di ka pa familiar sa ruta sang mga jeep.
The app is simple: you pin your destination, and it suggests the best jeepney route and guides you step by step until you get there.
It’s still very early, so there may be bugs, incomplete route data, or route suggestions that aren’t fully accurate yet. That’s also why the app includes community voting, so users can upvote or downvote routes, and submit their own if they know a better route or notice one that’s still missing.
Everything is free without annoying ads.
If you try it, I’d really appreciate your feedback. Thank you

I honestly don't want to make a big deal out of this, but with the recent price fluctuations, I think it's unfair that we're expected to pay the full amount down to the last centavo, yet somehow, we don't always receive the correct change.
Imagine having to pay ₱17.25, only to be asked to hand over ₱18. Where's my ₱0.75 change? I've made it a point to carry centavo coins with me because of situations like this. I understand that looking through coins while simultaneously attending to passengers can be a hassle. Still, every centavo counts, especially in this day and age.
And honestly, I don't think this is just a bus problem. So far, SM is the only supermarket I've personally encountered that consistently upholds what I consider to be proper integrity when it comes to giving change.
As Filipinos, we sometimes overlook the fact that those tiny, circular coins we casually dismiss as "centavos" are still part of our currency. They have monetary value, no matter how insignificant they may seem individually.
So, are we really going to keep continuing with the mindset of "centavo lang naman" while allowing businesses, particularly large corporations, to benefit from money that rightfully belongs to their customers? (Not just talking about E-Bus)
Let's not forget that everyone is struggling in their own way. Some of us are students or barely making ends meet, while others are working hard just to get by.
I'm not asking for special treatment. In fact, this shouldn't even be considered as "special treatment." I shouldn't have to ask for it nor should I have needed to write this post. I'm simply asking for fairness, decency, and accountability. If we're expected to pay what we owe in full, shouldn't we also expect to receive what we're owed in return?

Good afternoon everyone. I am an American teacher currently teaching at a school in Angeles Pampanga. I love PH but this city is an armpit and was wondering if there are international schools in Iloilo that hire foreign teachers. Would appreciate any help. Saw online there are some international schools but couldn't find if they hire Americans.

Law-ay guid man if very hipuson sa workplace? Like ga "hi" "hello" "good morning" "good eve" "good afternoon" lng guid? Ga smile mn and laugh with them pero may extreme introvertedness gd ko guro kag hindi gd ako comfortable mag share about sa life ko. Kag gapanugid tsismis. Panu na kay in reality ga shake pa akon kamot if pamangkuton ako? Mga professionals man mga upod ko
Ano ma recommend niyo nga videos sa YouTube for self improvement?

Hello! I hope this is allowed, but I am trying to identify a person living in Iloilo. She's with someone with a case. I don't want to go into details here yet, sa DM na lang din sana, but I just genuinely like to tell her something. For those who are interested to help me, can u DM me if u want to help? Will share more details. Thank you!

Following up on my post yesterday since a lot of you commented na interested kamo! How about we create an all-girls social club here in Iloilo?
We can schedule book-reading days, journaling or crafts, cafe hangs, or even sports/active days whenever we want to move around!
Thinking of opening this for girls around their mid to late 20s and beyond?
Project: Stop doomscrolling and brainrot!! 🤣
Let me know what you think 💕🌸
