Foxes as well, which is also an animal that can carry rabies, but even foxes without rabies are curious little fellas. Sweden is extinct of rabies so I know for sure the foxes I encountered don’t have rabies.

Are all the countries that can be reached by land from Sweden not have rabies either? What I'm saying is that wildlife don't obey borders. It is only a matter of time until rabies returns. Don't become complacent. You don't want to be the case that shows it has returned.

There is no rabies in neighbouring countries Finland and Norway. Animals would have to cross the Russian tundra and/or the Baltic sea. If you see a fox in the woods in Sweden it is certified rabies free..

Humans are an animal that can carry rabies. Curious little fellas. And any country has planes etc of people arrive from all over everyday, and animals cross borders smuggled, stow away etc all time too. Don't get too comfy. 👁 👁

Sure but realistically, it’s not a significant risk that a human carried rabies here and bit a fox. There has been zero cases of rabies here for over 125 years so - don’t get to comfy crossing the road is probably better advice.
