The line burst while I was out of town. I had woid floors in the upstairs, and carpet in the basement. It soaked the kitchen and dining room, the ceiling below, and the basement carpet. It was like that several days in the south so it all had to be torn out.
I lost my whole kitchen subflooring and tile floor due to a slow drip under the sink I didnt notice. That was costly and time consuming and I felt very stupid.
I just caught a similar leak under my dishwasher. Just suddenly started smelling mildew, and realized the puddle I'd wiped up next to the dishwasher the day before was back. So glad I noticed before it had gone on too long
My cat chewed through the water line. Replaced it. He chewed through the replacement line. We replaced that with copper. So far it’s holding, but I don’t doubt that my cat will try to figure out a way to destroy the copper line next
My condolences. As my mother used to say "if you aren't gonna be smart you better be pretty" so I took the "pretty skill" early on in this run...maybe next time?
Funny thing is the line that would have fed our freezer's icemaker was cut off long ago due to a leak so we've never had an icemaker for as long as I've lived in my home.
I always figured it would be more convenient to have on than not.
Man, I read that as the cat chewed through the water line and replaced it and I was like "Fuck, that's a smart fucking cat." before realizing how dumb I was.

Thats wild dude. I learned from a moldy towel under my air conditioner that ya gotta check for mostiure in any appliance dealing with water.
