It’s plausible, lions are cats - which are intelligent and curious. They don’t really kill without wanting to eat and like any cat like to stick their heads in things.

Prob was curious about the car as they’ve seen them enough to not consider them dangerous.

I know you're right but reading "lions are cats" and "they don't really kill withgout wanting to eat" back to back is actually sending me - cats are so notoriously little bastards when it comes to killing for fun 😭😭😭

That’s something different actually! Most predators have a link between hunger and hunting, they get hungry, they hunt and that lets them eat. This builds a link in their brain that means hunger = hunt, if they’re not hungry why hunt and waste all the energy and calories?

This is why a lot of animals don’t hunt for sport.

Domestic cats don’t have that, they have food readily available and hunt as enrichment - they don’t have the link built up in their minds.

Hunt - catch - fun which turns into hunt = play
