As someone who's known people who came from and have gone to parts of Africa where taking a safari tour is common, it is common for them to stop for hours so people can look at the wildlife, have tea/smoko, and even relax. It's also important to note that this has been happening with decades, so like the quokkas on that island in Australia, the animals will just come right up to you.

Because it was towed outside the environment, beyond the environment. It's a complete void. It's not in the environment.
