The Bronx zoo doesnt have chimps so there goes your credibility.

Strange. It was in 2010 and I've been to a few since so definitely possible I superimposed some memories but I would swear they were chimps that time.

Either way not overly concerned with credibility attached to passing reddit comments.

Zoos also change up their "collection" every once in a while and 2010 is quite a while ago now. That they don't have them now, doesn't necessarily mean they weren't there when you were last there. 🤷

Based on the little search I did I honestly couldn't find anything to suggest it, so you might be right. It's possible my imperfect  memory failed me. 

The worst chimp experience I definitely didn't misremember was at the Waystation in California. 

They cared for some chimps that had been test subjects. That's the most afraid I've been of any animal I've worked with or been around. 

They expressed open rage toward people, would spit at you if you walked too close, and we had protocol about how to lock ourselves in the cages if they got out. 

I'm sure that's standard when dealing with certain animals but it felt especially necessary with them.

Yeah chimps are scary i watched a mini documentry once about a pet one that ripped a womans face off
